So, who is going to attend the world premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest at Disneyland on June 24th???

Here is what I have been able to scrape up out across the Internet and forums so far about this cool date at DL.

The dates for the closure of the POTC ride and Blue Bayou have grown from early June reopening to June 26th! The good news there is that the POTC ride refurbishment and improvements should better coincide with the movie release. Bad news is that early summer visitors will miss out on this.

It looks like Fantasmic will be out of action from 6/17 to 6/28.

Disneyland Park will have altered hours on June 24, for premiere of POTC: Dead Man's Chest. The park will open at 6:30 in the morning and will close at 5:30 in the evening. The DCA park will be staying open later until 11:00 in the evening.

oh wow so i'll be getting there right as the ride is reopening!! cool hopefully everyone that wants to be there that time of the year will be there then.

DH will probably get to serve the entire cast of the movie at Club 33 that night. (Well, maybe not serve...but he may bus their tables or make their drinks at the bar!) Either way, I'm EXCEEDINGLY jealous.

Aye, aye, aye. OK, FIRST OF ALL... that June 26th re-open date is getting DANGEROUSLY close to my visiting dates of June 27th-30th. I am TELLING you one of the reasons I travel all the way out to DL is b/c I LOVE BB & their PoC version. I am already comprimising on the updates, heheh. If it wasn't open I would be devastated.

SECOND of all.... Why is Fantasmic out of commission for the 17th-28th? Apparantly they are preparing for my arrival by coordinating a special evening display dedicated to moi? hehehe!!

THIRD of all... if I don't get to do the Fantasmic Dessert Buffet AND/OR PoC/BB while I am there I will be OOONNNEEEE cranky Wish

I hear ya'!!! I feel your pain and anxiety! I know that 6/27 was the special day for you and the Fantasmic Dessert!!!!

I am thinking Fantasmic is out of action because they may be doing some work to be able to project the movie over the Rivers of America perhaps??? Anyone know more about this?

Also keep in mind that the info has changed a bit this way and bit that way over the last couple months. I expect it to change more in the coming weeks/months. I hope that it changes to be more favorable to your trip Wish!!!!

My goal is to attend the premiere but I might be in Europe at that time so I cant say for sure if I will make it. So I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens!

They have to shut down Fantasmic for that time to set everything up for the premiere. They set up stadium type seating along the Rivers of America and the screen on the island. Here are some pictures courtesy of Mouseplanet of the premiere from the first PotC Movie.

If they supposedly keep changing the date, then why did I get an ad in my KH 2 game that says the ride will be open in July? Note it does say both WDW and DL rides will not open til July.

The part that I don't get... if the PREMIERE event is on the 24th, how could the ride not be ready for THAT! It seems impossible. Also why would Fantasmic be operating for the premiere?

Well June 27th-30th, I am keeping my fingers crossed, that's when I will be there!

One thing I CANT stand is when something is going on like that at the resort and you dont get to go because then the setup for the event like covers up a lot of the area in the park and its just not like it usually is on a regular day, but thats just how me and my weird self is, lol.
