Re: Space Mountain

I heard something, I forget where from, that space mountion transformed into a different space mountion come night. Like it was more intense for the older crowd. I forget what it was called.

Re: Space Mountain

Well all i know about is that they changed it for grad nights but i don't think they changed it for everyone because it didn't get the reaction they expected.

Re: Space Mountain

The nighttime version of space mountain hasn't opened yet. A version of it opened for grad night guests, but only them. The reaction of it wasn't good enough to open it for the public. But they have announced they plan on opening it in 2007, I'm assuming they are going to fix it up before then. From what I've heard, the night time transformation consists of a new rock'n roll sound track, a bunch of cool light effects, and projections on the walls. They called it "RockIt mountain for the grad night guests, but when they announced the opening of it in 2007, they didn't call it that. So who knows.

Re: Space Mountain

It's dark outside for one and light outside for the other.

Do we REALLY need another coaster where they blast music at ya? Coasters should be for riding...not concerts.

Re: Space Mountain

My friend went to the gradnight version this year. She said she didn't even know it was a different ride, even though she had gone earlier in the year. I think the only thing they should do with SM is speed it up a little... :)

Re: Space Mountain

Like disneylandrocks said, they have been working on Rock It Mountain as the alternative riding experience.

Here is a link to a video of Rock It Mountain!

Re: Space Mountain

Eh... I don't really like that soundtrack. Not very Disney if you ask me... :0/
The projections were pretty cool though.

Re: Space Mountain

DLR is right, they have only used these new effects at Grad Nites so far. They are planning on opening it to the general public, but it's not a big priority at the moment. They're kind of putting it on a back burner, but the hope is that it will premiere by 2007.
