New Theme Park Resort In Garden Grove!!

A new Theme park resort has been okay'd to be built in Garden Grove, just 3 Miles from Disneyland!! The new resort will include a park (I think its gonna be a universal/six flags like park) 3 new hotels, and a parking structure. Heres the bad but funny thing, this new park is going to kick DCA's big ol' pattuty, the hong kong investors are putting 2 BILLION dollars in JUST the park (the amount Tokyo Disney Sea got).....where as DCA/DTD/Parking/New hotels only got about 1.6 BILLION.....this is going to be very interesting and is going to change DLR forever.......I dont know if I like where this is going.....

We will all have to see how it plays out. One thing they will never have is magic. And this will only draw more people out to LA which will bring people to DL. Look at all the parks in Orlando, and it all started with WDW.

They won't have the Disney name, which is a big deal to some people.

Pretty gutsy move I think...althought Six Flags is considering selling out, so maybe that is why they are doing it. Who knows.

Somone should give me 2 billion dollars.

And that is 2 billion for the park to be built. Plus they have to buy the land tear down buildings remove everything. So 2 billion is not the whole buget.

Yeah, and residential land alone goes in the $100-300 thousand range (approx.), for per quarter acre or so. I imagine they have quite the budget for land!

They have a total of 8 billion dollars, 2 of it is soley for the park costruction.

Competition is a good thing. Disney is going to be forced to improve DCA in order to compete. In Orlando Disney-MGM was built to directly compete with Universal. And in Orlando, WDW knows they have SeaWorld, US, and a slew of smaller of attractions to compete with. Yes, they remain clearly on top, BUT were it not for competition, I don't think WDW would be where it is today.

Wow! That is a nice chunk of change. Hopefully it will be a good park, and not a flop. Time will tell. I am still waiting for the Anaheim Gardenwalk to finish.
