OK Planning, planning and more planning!!!!!!!!!

OK took the first step! Booked the flights for our February sojurn to DL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey I figure we have to fly all the way from NY to Arizona for a wedding on 2/21 so might as well go out a week ahead of time, fly the extra few hundred miles to LA and do DL! Who could really pass up that!
Besides there must be some kind of law we'd be breaking if we didn't go toDL being so close and all!

Sounds like a plan to me, Matto... wish it was mine! ;) That's a trip report that I will be really excited to read. I hope I can get out there one day myself...:) Maybe I can just enjoy yours for now...

How exciting and it sounds perfectly logical too me. We hope to get out there someday ourselves. DH wants to take the kids out west (he's thinking Grand Canyon, Yosemiteand I'm thinking DL, Seaworld, San Franciso). Our youngest DS has been begging for years to see DL and Legoland. Maybe soon?

Gotta tell you, if your kids are older (over say 8 or 9) I would seriously consider a trip to the Grand Canyon. We went a few years ago and it was one of the most amazing experiences that I have ever had. It was breathtaking!!!!!!!!!!! My boys were young so they didn't really appreciate it but they had a good time. You should really try and do it one day. I plan on going back when they are older and renting an RV and camping there.:)

Maybe next summer the boys would be 10, 13, and 16 so it would be a great age for them all. We love to travel and take the boys new places but we have never been out west with them we just been waiting for the perfect time (Like disney we wanted to wait to take them so they be able to appreciate and remember .

We did disney for the first time when the boys were 5, 8, and 11. It was perfect they all had a great time and we ran them ragged from dawn to dusk. No strollers, no naps! I do have a tinge of regret because I never saw them react to the characters at (2, 3 or 4 years old). Three perfect disney vacation behinds us and approaching the fourth I think we made the right decision for us.

We took our boys for the 1st time to WDW when they were 4 and half and two. The character interaction was priceless!!!!!!!! We've been three times already and our fourth will be August. Our 5th will be to DL in Feb. They are already seasoned travellers. They've been to Washington DC, Arizona (Phoenix and the Grand Canyon) Florida and numerous road trips in NY and New England. We are planning on buying into DVC this next trip.:)

I am so jealous I'd love to buy into DVC but can't seem to budge DH. He's afraid that were be be isolated to only doing disney. So untrue when you look at all the other place you can go. Maybe someday I'll talk him into one.

We've also had our DS all of the US, and Canada. Just last year we vacation in Maine (kennebunkport) North Carolina (blue rige mountains) disney, St. Pete Beach Florida. Kennebunkport is one of our favs it's such a quaint place and we always have a great time there.

What a perfect plan!!! You have to go if you are that close!!! Take time to enjoy California Adventure if you have never been there!! It is really a great park too!! The first time we went we were not really sure about it, but the next year we planned it out better and took our time finding the good stuff and really enjoyed it!! You cannot miss going on Soarin' Over California it is a fantastic ride. Also California Screamin' is a great rollercoaster!! We did hear tho that Space mountain is going to be under total refubishment for the next 18 months for the 50 year celebration at DL. Anyway have a great time can't wait to hear about it. We are going Sept. 04 WAY TOO FAR AWAY But we are taking our First WDW trip this September:D That should be great!!!:)

Haven't beed to DL since 1998! DL was my first really big vacation as a kid (With my mom and sister) and will always have a special place in my heart. Another reason I'm going is that it holds some fond memories of my mom :heart who passed away back in October. I want to share those memories with my DW and DS's. We'll have four full days so that should be more then enough time.

WDW was my next big vacation as a kid , I went with just my mom on that one. WDW has changed so much over the years. You'll have a blast!:) :)
