Using your Disney World hopper at Disneyland -- TROUBLE!

hello friends,
during a recent trip to CA (last week) I thought I would stop by Disneyland! I had a few days left on my park hopper from WDW, so I checked all the websites and I thought "no problem" -- so off I went.

Okay -- EVERYONE from the ticket counter people, gate people, and of course guest services not only hated the idea of me using my hopper from Florida, but refused it. I stood my ground (with the most polite attitude I could muster) and about 45 minutes later, after asking for a supervisor ... they allowed me to use my hopper.

Be warned: tickets from WDW can not be scanned at gate. You must have a supervisor read the ticket in a special hidden area of the park. The 2 parks are not connected electronically except for this one area. A supervisor must use a special scanner to read tickets from Florida.

The day proceeded great, and California Adventure is a pretty cool blend of EPCOT, MGM. Hope this helps anyone who plans to travel out west with WDW tickets.

Hmm..I never thought about this either. I always figured they were two separate entities.

I had always heard you coudln't use tickets from WDW at DL, they are two different parks with different tickets. I'm glad it worked for you though.

See, I HAVE read on several different sources that you CAN use you left over WDW park hoppers in Disneyland which makes no sense really b/c they actually operate as two whole seperate entities. But people still report using them. I don't know, it's weird. But I am glad it was able to work for you.

It always makes me nervous using passes from one park for another one...I'm glad it worked out for you, even though you had to go through a frustrating process!

We took free CM passes (the kind they give to CMs for Christmas; special events) from DL and used them at WDW, and only encountered a problem once. But even that was enough to make it a nervewracking process, never knowing if they'll let you in!

i definitely wouldnt have thought DL to WDW would work. The other way around, possibly.

Apparently they usually don't since it was a bit of a problem getting what you wanted accomplished.

Usually the resorts dont like using other resort tickets to get in, it can be done, but they get all blegh about it. Glad it worked for you!

I never would have thought about using leftover tickets at another park, but I'm so glad it worked for you! I would love to go to DL again!

You can't use fastpasses after the day they expire...or you aren't suppose to. I can't imagine how you would use them on a different day in a different park all together.

There aren't TOO many duplicated FP attractions in DL & WDW, and the DL Fast Passes clearly have "Disneyland" marked on them. I don't really think they would be cross honored.

I think what Cubsblue meant was would the WDW passes provide FPs from the DL machine. I, of course, have no idea if this would work.

AHHHHH, I got'cha! My guess would be 'no' but there are usually always CMs around that can press that magical button if you show them your ticket & explain the situation real fast.
