Re: My intern's sister just got ejected from Disneyland....

The 'child' ruined her own day by breaking the park rules. If anyone is to blame, it's her, her older sister & her sister's friend. If she wanted to enjoy a magical DL day, let her sister purchase a day's ticket. Just like the rest of us.

Re: My intern's sister just got ejected from Disneyland....

I find it hard to believe the CM called her a bad person. The CM may very well have said 'what she did was bad' or that 'she had made a bad choice' or 'you and this other person made a bad choice'. Perhaps, due to her embarrassment, all she heard was 'you.... bad.... person'.

I Hope the one chick gets her pass back. I know she made a bad decision in trying to get her little sister in for free, but I think she should go get her pass back anyway.

Learn and be better. That's what we do.

The "You are a bad person" remark is totally uncalled for and beyond unacceptable. Regardless if borrowing a pass is right, wrong, or indifferent, passing judgement is just plain ugly. Enforcinig the rule is perfectly fine, but being rude and judgemental coould not be less "Disney."

My humble opinion!

Yeah, that's the only issue I have with this scenario. That was so not necessary to add.

Re: My intern's sister just got ejected from Disneyland....

I would certainly have liked to be a proverbial "fly on the wall" to hear the EXACT language that the CM used to the girl with the "borrowed " ticket. I would be willing to put a slight wager that, as brebre51 stated, the actual wording was slightly altered even though it was not done purposely.

Re: My intern's sister just got ejected from Disneyland....

(In response to Erin's post)

What will she learn if there are no consequences?

Your child is caught stealing a candy bar at a store. You scold the child: "It is wrong to take this candy without paying for it. What you did was a very bad thing! Don't ever do it again!" Then you turn around & give the child the very same candy bar that he/she had stolen.

What lesson would he/she have learned? That if I take something that doesn't belong to me, my parent will give me a tongue lashing AND the very thing that I wanted to begin with. WOW! What a bargain. (the child will have learned nothing)

I think not getting into the park would be the lesson learned.... it didn't work. And after the season pass was shredded, I hope she would be bright enough not to try it again.

Re: My intern's sister just got ejected from Disneyland....

I just do not think anyone has the knowledge of the exact details of how the ticket was borrowed, who did it, the age of the child, etc... to pass judgement on what lessons someone else's child may or may not have learned.

I want to be clear, if you take a risk and break the rules then you are open to the consequences. But, it is unacceptable to be ugly about it and judgemental. I also think it is parents role to manage the life-lessons of their children, not the public at large. We aren't even sure if the borrowed pass was the child's choice or if the it was used by a child, for that matter. We are certain the beinig ugly is not the Disney way.

I can almost hear the 15 yr old saying something like: 'That mean, old CM wouldn't let me in! Everyone does it all the time! The CM even took my friend's AP & wouldn't give it back!! That just isn't fair! The CM even screamed at ME calling me a BAD person!! The CM just totally ruined my whole day!!'

As many times as I have been to Disney, I have never had a CM be rude. One time, when we were very upset over something, the CM kept her cool & was in every way polite. (I wouldn't have blamed her if she would have gotten upset with us) They are trained to be polite.

CM's should act in accordance to Disney's standards and guidelines. If Disney chooses not to call the police/security to handle the matter, that is their decision. If it is Disney's decision to revoke the AP and send the perpetrator on their way, then that is what should be done.

I do not believe, however, that Disney would condone the offering of commentary by their CM's on an individual's personal character, CM's whom they train in a customer service standard that is a model for many other corporations throughout the world. The CM should have acted according to the direction set forth by Disney and kept their mouth shut.

The idea that this 15 year old did this because "kids today" are coddled, etc. is ridiculous. IMHO I am sure this happens at Disney parks everyday by visitors of all ages. Some get caught. Some don't.

I wonder how many 6 foot tall, 220 pound, 40 year old, males get called "bad people" in these situations?
You said it perfectly for me. Of course she was old enough to "know better". I wish I could say I was a perfect 15 year old. But I wasn't. And I was raised by responsible, loving parents. I did some pretty stupid things - usually under peer pressure -and I'm sure my parents would have been unhappy if they had found out about it. But was I a "bad" person? No. Not then, not now.

Yeah, I have to agree with LittleMissMagic. All children are different but for me the scare of being caught, the attempt not working in the first place, & being embarrassed by a CM would have been enough of a lesson for me to never try something like that EVER again.

That was my original point. All we have is this girl's word that she was called a bad person. And I ain't exactly ready to believe what she said.
