My intern's sister just got ejected from Disneyland....

Turns out my Intern's younger sister (15) arrived in California to meet her older sister and brother-in-law.

Well, the Older sister had a season pass, but the younger sister "borrowed" a season pass from the Older sister's friend.

They got into California Adventure okay, but that afternoon headed into Disneyland.

At the gate the CM looked at the "borrowed" season pass, looked at younger sister, and said:

"Um, smile for me.."

Younger sister smiled.

CM: "Um, smile again.."

She smiled again.

CM: "This isn't you, is it?"

Younger sister apparently admitted that no, it was not her.

The CM then confiscated the "borrowed" season pass.

Younger sister cried when the CM said:

"You're a bad person."

Bad karma! Does this mean that the original passholder is now out of luck as well??

WOW! That is harsh (the bad person bit!). . . but then again . . . if everyone got away with it, imagine what the cost of tickets would be?

Is it true that the passholder looses her pass as well? Can she say it was stolen, or borrowed without her knowing? That's a double wammie! OUCH!

Yes I thought the 'bad person' was a little harsh too- I know she shouldn't have done it but hey shes just 15, and the one who lent is as guilty and the sister is too as she must have arranged it....... IMHO of course!

Didn't have to. She realized that the game was up.

Yeah, she thought she was being "good" since she readily admitted that it wasn't her season pass..

I think they left that day. The younger sister was totally bummed out by that point.

I suspect so. How does one ask for a confiscated season pass back?

There is no free lunch. Using someone else AP is like stealing. Sorry but she is a bad person for doing that.

I know it is harsh but as someone that plays by the rules I'm the one that ends up paying for the people that break rules.

I don't think either are banned for life.. But this is the first time I've known someone who tried to enter Disneyland with another's pass..

Yes, apparently that's what upsets her the most. She considers herself to be a good person. I guess it's a relative term..

I'm not sure. I suspect you could argue it was "stolen", but not sure it would involve a police report at that point..

I don't think any of them thought it was harmful, neither did they think they would get caught.. But I think being called a bad person is better than being arrested.. Overall, bad judgment by all concerned.

Yes, sadly I think it took this event to happen for her to realize the life lesson here.

Re: My intern's sister just got ejected from Disneyland....

i bet this makes one heck of an impression on the 15yo!

~~ reminds me how my dad would say we were young enough for the child's ticket at the movies like 2 years after we were too old for it. i used to be so nervous getting in line, and then it kinda made me mad he was so cheap and made us all lie about it, when it was obvious it was a lie.

that made a HUGE impression on me, so much that....

i make a point to tell the ticket person (selling the tickets) that my DD is 4yo. she is proud of her age! :C) i don't want to save a couple of bucks and ultimately cost myself my child's respect...i mean kids know you are lying to save money...that is like stealing..no?

anyway...sorry to ramble, but that is what this topic made me think of.
