Icon5 Something has been bothering me, can anyone help?

For my 12th birthday, my parents took me to DL. At the time, we lived in Phoenix, AZ. I even got to miss a day of school. A real treat back then.

I remember a few things about my visit to DL back in the early '60s. One of the things I recall is riding an opened train through a scaled down version of a village. I remember the perfect, little shops & houses. I recall thinking how neat it would be to play inside of them. But, they were only for show.

My parent's taped it with a movie camera. They taped most of our trip. I have never seen a picture of it since that time except on my parent's movie. That tape is long gone.

My question is do any of you older DL visitors recall this ride or the tiny village?

I think you are referring to Casey Jr. Circus Train next to the Storybook Land.

Here is a video of the miniature villages you were talking about, from You Tube. We did the Storybook Land Canal Boats at night, so it was really pretty and quaint with all the little villages and lands lit up. I love it!

That must have been it. Is it still in operation? Thanks for the replies.

Absolutely, the train is still in operation and you can take the Storybook Land Canal boats to get more of an upclose look at the little miniature villages, etc.

Man, I wish I had visited DL without the family last November when I was in San Diego! I just didn't feel right about going without them.

That was Storybook Canal Boats...Love that ride!
That's great your parents took video..too bad it's long gone.
My parents didn't even take any pictures on my first trip in 1971
How very sad for a scrapbooker.
