With 8 days to pace ourselves and having a 4 year old...at MK it will be the Carousel at rope drop, then on to Dumbo followed by the Tea Cups. By then Dad is ready for a break on Small World...

We choose our first ride based on the lines. If the line is too long for my kids to handle then we just move on. There's so much to do so if we miss a ride it's just not a big deal to us....sounds really silly & it's not a ride BUT my daughter & I love Minnie's country house. We can't wait to see it as I hear they just did it over a couple months ago.

Magic Kingdom it would be most definetly Space Mountain.
Epcot it is Test Track. Animal Kingdom Expedition Everest and Safaris Disney Studios would have to be Tower of Terror and Aerosmith's Rock n Roller Coaster.

Our first ride of the day is ALWAYS Dumbo. It's one of the kids favorite and if we don't hit it first, the line gets sooooo long! Now that the kids are tall enough, we go straight to Splash Mountain after Dumbo. We tend to skip around a lot but we no longer takes mid-day breaks for naps so we have plenty of time. :-)

First....Splash Mountain!
Last of the night...Transit Authority...I LOVE  it! I can sit and relax my sore tootsies as we reflect on a great day..... Last New Year's, we slid up there just as the fireworks were going and swooshed by over the crowds as the countdown ended with an incredible firework display! SWEET!!! (In case your thinking to do the same, know that your tempting fate...you could end up inside Space Mountain during the finale)
