Re: Disneyland Auditons

So I am sitting here in the hotel room right now reporting to you all that today did not go all that well....in other words...I didn't make it through very far at all. I am very disappointed, but I guess I just don't have the right look that they wanted, I dunno.

Anyway, I got there at 7:45 for a 9:00 call and was released at just about 10. I was in the 4th or 5th group to go in and learn the across the floor combination. We had about 10 minutes to learn it and then we were moved into another rehearsal room and actually performed it for the audition. I really felt that I performed it well and gave them a TON of energy and smiles, but I still didn't get through. That's about it.

I have been pretty bummed all day, so we'll see how I feel when I get home tomorrow.

I am so sorry to hear it didn't go well! I hate that with parades, you just don't know what roles they are casting for. I would keep your eyes peeled for more auditions, and go back again!!! You never know when they'll need someone with your exact look! **hugs**

Re: Disneyland Auditons

I'm sorry it didn't go well. My guess is that they were looking for particular types and no matter how well you did it really wouldn't matter.

Re: Disneyland Auditons

I agree with the others that said they were probably looking for something specific. But don't give up! When there's another open call, go! Think of this as a learning experience....now you know the process and what to expect so next time you'll be even more ready!

Im sorry to hear that! I had a friend who auditioned this weekend as well for the new Celebrate A Street Party Parade in DL park, he didnt make it either, supposively because he was an inch too tall, trust me, coming from a Past Disneyland Cast Member and a current Cast Member working for Walt Disney Consumer Products and having a cousin who is a Parade Performer (BPB Trainer for WDW and performer in Pixar Play Parade) it isnt easy landing a position in the entertainment dept, especially right now when the resort really isnt hiring in any depts! So I hope you the best of luck next time and Im really sorry again that things didnt go your way, that just means a bigger and better opportunity awaits you in the near future, but never loose sight of what you want - stick to your dream and go for it...trust me on that one!

Re: Disneyland Auditons

Thanks everyone. I just found it interesting to see the audition notice saying that they wanted everyone of all shapes and sizes...because that is definitely not what made it through, at least in my group anyway. I just wish I was given a better chance to show them what I could do and give them my resume so they could see that I have done parades before along with other theme park jobs.

How did he find out that he was too tall? Did he make it far enough to fill out paper work/get his picture taken? There was no way that I was able to find out why, or get any feedback for that matter. They kind of just hurried us out as soon as we were cut.

They had told him the cut off was the hight of 5'8, he was 5'9 3/4 inches tall. Im not sure how far into the process he had made it though. I worked in Attractions for a short while, so that wasnt hard to get hired into, and now I work for the Disney Stores (loving it too, wooo!!) and Im a Pastry chef (I was that before I went to work at DLR). So hopefully you can get a position in the future, keep trying though, they like it when a person keeps trying and a bunch of new shows are parades are going to to debuting for Disneyland's 55th Anniversary in 2010 (I know it sounds far away but it kind of isnt! And try possibly to get a position in another area of the resort and transfer to parade performing once the time comes around they are looking for new roles, just an FYI - when working in the resort, you have to be in one position for a minimum of 3 months before you can transfer to another area - or so it was like that when I was there, just thought you might like to know!).
