Re: Please tell this is not true!!!

Okay, I'm breathing a sigh of relief. I like the way the whole Nescafe thing blends into the Market House as it does now, so I'm sure changing to Starbucks wouldn't be bad. At least it would be a major improvement in the coffee quality!

I was picturing an actual Starbucks kinda just stuck into Main Street, with a sign hanging out front and everything, a la Six Flags Magic Mountain with their Johnny Rocket's, Panda Express, Papa John's and Cold Stone Creamery. Going to Magic Mountain is like walking into an outdoor mall.

Of course, this is just my opinion.
Second: Al Lutz isn't planning to do it personally. He was just writing about it. But I REALLY REALLY appreciate that you cite your source. It's a pet peeve of mine when news is repeated here like it's original reporting... and it's just copying Miceage.

In general, what I don't like about this rumor according to that column is that it sounded like a little more than just replacing the behind the counter stuff at the market place, and making it an "old-timey coffee house"... which to me sounds like adding more seating than just the grab and go that it is now. I don't want the Marketplace to change! I love it- I think it's so charming. I always shop in there.

Yea, that pretty much sums it up. I sometimes feel safer in the bad areas of my downtown then I do in Magic Mountain, haha!

I am in favor of bringing Starbucks to Main Street. Would love to drink a Starbucks white chocolate latte while eatting a chocolate chip cookie from the bakery while watching the fireworks. Especially if it is on a cool winter night.

Starbucks isn't bad. Wouldn't mind a cup, but what's even better is Community Chest or some good ole chickory blend from Cafe' DuMonde.imo

Re: Please tell this is not true!!!

Just have to weigh in... would also love to see Starbucks coffee served but I don't want any of the charm changed! Definately think the Nescafe should have gone a long time ago!

For those of us who live in the furtherst reaches of the empire, Starbucks is the first thing I buy when my flight lands in Honolulu. Sort of recognition that I have arrived in civilization.

That being said, I am glad they just bringing in the coffee and sponsorship.

Re: Please tell this is not true!!!

LOL darn coffee lovers : ) any upgrade on main street is fine with me as long as it stays themed to the turn of the century. What i'd like to see is ROCKSTAR sold somewhere in the park, that monster drink taste like old shoe. Starbucks at DL, sounds like a step in the right direction.
