Plans for a California DVC site?

Does anyone know if there are plans for a California DVC site? I checked out the points for the Disneyland resorts and they seem to be high.

No official plans, and I have not heard of any rumors. I agree with you about points needed for a DL Resort stay. When and if we make it out to DL we are planning on looking into the World Passport Collection. There appears to be a few resorts (7) near the coast of CA, and point requirements are not that out of line.

Re: Plans for a California DVC site?

Actually, Disney owned the site where the current Marriott Newport Beach Vacation Club is built. Disney owned several properties around the country, the one in CA, one in Colorado (ski town) and one other in Virginia, but sold them all to other timeshare companies when the Hilton Head project did not sell as they expected. If they do build one someday, my guess is that it will be in the remaining parking lot left over after the construction of California Adventure. No plans have been announced at all, but if they announce that the cruise line will be in CA on a full time basis, don't be surprised if they announce a DL DVC at the same time.
