Today in the Orlando Sentinel there is an article about SSR opening up, and Jim Lewis had two very interesting quotes.

"We still have a lot of green space to expand."

Lewis also said the company wants to build its time-share business because owners tend to visit more often and spend more money -- twice as much as those who stay at a Disney hotel and seven times as much as those who stay off property.

I can vouch for this one personally. When owning DVC, your rooms are "paid for", so you feel you have more money to spend. Plus, having been there so many times, you know exactly what you usually spend for food, entertainment etc, and you know everything that is available, while other often come in with a "budget", whether realistic or not, are rarely get beyond the theme parks and water parks.

Oh, and with those quotes, I hope we will hear about Eagle Pines shortly.

Eagle Pines was actually announced back in September, 2001, prior to the announcement of Saratoga Springs. They put Eagle Pines on hold, since it is small, and parts of SS were there already (think spa).

We checked out Saratoga Springs DVC while we were there and OH MY GOSH!!!!! The home away from home was enormous!! They have a lake front view of Downtown Disney. For spending two hours there, they gave us free ice cream (small) and 2 fast pass immediate entry for the 3 of us. We took all the paperwork home to review and check out our financial standings, again.

We looked at Boardwalk DVC 5 years ago, but could not afford it then.

It was nice walking in to see something and knowing, pretty much, what the deal was though. We still had questions and they were very helpful.

Oh, and if you bring the kids with you, they have an activity center for them while you are talking to the rep. If the kids need you for any reason, as ours did, they page the rep immediately.
