Vero Beach

Hi, can anyone give me info about Disney Vero Beach? Are there characters there? Is the resort worth the money? Thank you

Re: Vero Beach

Our home resort is Vero Beach. we've never stayed there, but last year drove down to look around. The resort is lovely, but it's a completely different experience than WDW. Basically, it's an oceanside vacation. Very laid back, very quiet and relaxed. Everything is very natural. It's situated right on the ocean front. Has two nice restaurants, and the suites are almost identical to those at WLV or BCV. We didn't seen any characters while we were there. Basically, it's a "holiday at the beach". I think it would be a great way to unwind, after spending a week at the parks. Swimming, golf, tennis, and just strolling on the beach seem to be the most popular pasttimes. There's also a full-service spa.

They have a character breakfast every Saturday with Goofy and Max (not sure on the price).

We stayed there a couple of years ago in a 3 bedroom beach cottage (best place I have ever stayed in my life). The resort is fantastic, very small, and really, not too Disney. The beach is right there, maybe a 30 second walk from the pool area. I think it is a great place to go to wind down from your Disney vacation, say for a couple of nights. I have seen a bunch of specials, so you can get a good deal there, as long as you don't want to go during Christmas or some other insane time.

One other option is to call them and tell them you are interested in DVC. They often have great deals on the rooms for people coming to look at the resort. They expect you to sit through the presentation, but it is only about 30 minutes, and most of it is walking around the resort and looking at the different rooms and such. We took our only tour there prior to purchasing DVC. Hence the upgrade to the 3 bedroom beach cottage.
