For which year? You can borrow points from the upcoming year if you need to. So, if you want to book a cruise for March, 2005, the answer would be yes, you can.

Re: Reservations using DVC

Sorry, I was not very clear. We have 80 points left over from 2004 which we intend to bank. We get 300 more on Feb. 1st, 2005. If we wanted to cruise in March, 2005 can we reserve a spot say now using the 80 2004 points, the 300 2005 points and part of our 2006 points since the cruise itself will actually take place after we have earned our 2005 points?

If not, can we use points for part of the cruise (like my wife and I) and pay cash for the kids only??

Re: Reservations using DVC

Yes, you can use those points now. DVC does not care when you make the reservation, just when you are going to travel. You can use the 380 points for 2004 and 2005, and borrow from 2006 if you need to.

I do not think you can pay points for some people and cash for others, but not real sure about that. I will look it up.

Re: Reservations using DVC

OK, I was half right. For the points, you can do as I said. It only matters when you travel, not when you make the reservation. Oh, and you can make it 11 months ahead for the cruise line, so you can do that now. There is a $75 fee.

You can use points to book the first two people on board, and cash for any kids. They will let you know what the fee is when you book the cruise, but my guess is that it will be expensive, and you might be better of using points if you have them.

Let us know how it goes.
