Studio Beds at Old Key West

I can't remember if I read this somewhere. Have any of you heard that Old Key West is going to change over the studios from two queen beds to one queen and a fold out sofa sleeper? If so, do you know when they are planning on doing this?

I thought I read it somewhere, but I can't find it now. All I can find is information about the pool being updated and that they are switching out VCR's to DVD players in each room.

Sorry, I don't know the answer either, but I vaguely remember hearing the same thing. There is no doubt that the studios in the newer resorts have a better lay-out than the ones at OKW. The sofa gives you some place to sit, other than on the beds,so it would be nice if they did change them.

I have not heard this about OKW. I know that Beach Club Villas was supposed to have a queen and a sleeper sofa, but many of the rooms just had two queens, and a lot of people complained, so they were going back to what it was supposed to be. I do not think OKW will be making this change, but it would be nice for the dedicated studios (but not as the second bedroom in a 2 bedroom villa.)

I hope they don't change anytime soon! On our next trip we'll have 4 adults in one studio and we are all hoping for the two queen beds!!

Another bed Q:

Does each studio have a port-a-crib for a toddler or do you have to request it from the front desk? If you have to request it, do you wait until you check in or do you request it when you make your reservations??

There is a port-a-crib in each studio (in the closet)

According to the list for the vacation club rooms, every room has a porta-crib already in it. I looked at my info to be sure and you can look it up on the website where they talk about standard features for each of the rooms. Hope this helps.
