Hilton Head??

Has anyone ever stayed at the Hilton Head or Vero Beach resort? What is there to do there? We're thinking of our next trip and don't want to go back to WDW until my youngest is 4 (it was a long drive back).

Re: Hilton Head??

We have stayed at Hilton Head once in November I think it was. Everything was very slow and laid back with not a lot to do (at least not Disney oriented stuff). There are a lot of outlet stores for shopping, golf is a big thing there and the beach is always nice. Haven't been to Vero Beach yet so I can't offer any information on it. For a very relaxing vacation, Hilton Head is great.

Re: Hilton Head??

Our home resort is Vero Beach. Although we've never stayed there, we drove out to look at it the last time we were at WDW. The location is beautiful, the resort is definitely up to Disney standards. It looked very laid back and relaxed. No WDW type entertainment, but I would imagine it would be a wonderful way to unwind after a vacation at WDW.

Re: Hilton Head??

I have stayed at both. Hilton Head is much larger, though the rooms are very similar, same layout as Beach Club Villas, etc. Hilton Head has great beaches, great restaurants, fantastic golf and a lot of shopping. We spent 6 days there, and I could have spent another week or so.

Vero is beautiful, great beach access and a nice resort. I just felt that it was a bit isolated, and if you didn't want to go to the beach, you had to drive for 20 minutes to find something.

I would stay at Vero again, but only if it were added on at the end of my WDW vacation. I would definitely go to Hilton Head again with the family as the only part of our trip.

Re: Hilton Head??

Thank you! We were wondering what they were both like. We may try Hilton Head next year since it's not as far as WDW or Vero Beach. I really don't want to fly (unless we're going to Hawaii, Europe, CA or the Carribean). The drive was hard on my 13 month old. She's catching up on her sleep this very minute!

Re: Hilton Head??

How many points would it be for a trip to Hilton Head?? Is it a higher or lower point value than OKW or SSR(Saratoga Springs).

Good question...my sis and I were just talking about this today. I had thought about Vero Beach over Spring Break in a couple of years, she suggested HH...so I just pulled out my point book. For our Spring Break period it would "cost" 153 pionts (Deluxe Inn Room Garden View, sleeps 4) or 178 points for a studio per week at Vero Beach. At HH at the same time period the Studio (that sleeps 4) "costs" 78 points. WOW! What a difference. Think we'll be looking into Hilton Head a little more.

Re: Hilton Head??

It sounds like Hilton Head is a much better deal, and has much better surrounding attractions.

Well, sis, Vero beach is 50 miles further from home than HH.

HH=1220 miles
VB=1270 miles

Re: Hilton Head??

We have a book of points, but have you tried Disneyvacationclub.com?? Not sure if you can access all sights if you're not a member, but it's worth a try. If you're not a member, maybe after you read the website you'll become one!
Good luck!!

Re: Hilton Head??

The DVC website doesn't have those point values, atleast not for non-members. Do any of the members know a site??
