Worth the time to view

Wondering if I should take the time to view DVC... we are really interested in time share... but won't be buying this visit and not sure about the difference between time share and DVC...

Now or when we are ready to purchase???

Re: Worth the time to view

If you are seriously interested, it's certainly worthwhile. There will be no "pressure" to buy. We took two tours before we decided to buy. It's worth it just to see the DVC properties. I am hopeless on the "ins" and"outs" of timeshares (I let my husband do that while my eyes glaze over), but for DVC you buy "points" which you use toward your stay.

Re: Worth the time to view

We did the tour this last trip and we recieved a $100 disney gift certificate, which we used for a nice dinner at California Grill. There was no pressure, it was very informative, and we got to see the units, and free refreshments and ice cream sundaes. It was definitely worth the 2 hours of our day, because now we are seriously considering DVC, and just trying to save up for it.

DVC is a time share.

Go to www.disneyvacationclub.com and order the free video. It provides answers to a lot of your questions! Good luck.

Re: Worth the time to view

I's say yes, go view if you have the time. There is zero pressure and they will pick you up and drop you off anywhere on WDW property. Visiting will get you thinking about the possibilities and they will answer any question have.

My kids loved that they could play Nintendo while we talked.

We are new and very pleased DVC members.

Re: Worth the time to view

Just a little funny story about the $100 gift certificate you get when taking the DVC tour. Last year I was in line at the snack shop in Wilderness Lodge. The guy in front of me bought a small drink. Total $2.00. He handed the lady at the cash register the $100 gift certificate. She handled him back Disney dollars or something like that. The guy blew up. He said he wanted cash. He caused such a problem that the manager had to come and calm him down. He went on and on about how Disney lies and takes all your money. LOL!!! Everyone just stood around and laughed at his foolish antics.

Re: Worth the time to view

We toured DVC the first time in about 1995, when OKW was the only property. Talk about Royal Treatment! They arranged to pick us up at MK, had a special activity room for our kids, (with characters), gave us all ice cream sundaes, we had a family picture taken with Mickey, a $100. voucher and a commemorative photo album and Mickey balloons for the kids. Then they delivered us back to POR, where we were staying. They toned it down a bit the next time we toured. Think we got the voucher and the ice cream! But the second time clinched it for us and we've never regretted buying.

I can only speak for ourselves. We encountered absolutely NO pressure. And we asked A LOT of questions and took a lot of time looking around.

Anyway, we are pleased DVC owners.

Re: Worth the time to view

We didn't get the $100 voucher, we got lunch for 4 on the Boardwalk...which was very nice!!! The kids had a blast playing in the game room/toy room during our presentation. The sales center is now located at SSR, but I'm sure they will give you "something" for your visit. We were told to book ours late morning so that we'd get a free lunch out of it!

We didn't have any pressure either. Our sales rep is Randy Kruger. he is awesome! Every time I call, I barely get my name out and he's asking about our last trip in March and he knows when we are coming back, etc. Very impressive!!

They picked us up at our resort and dropped us off after lunch. Royal treatment!!!

Re: Worth the time to view

Interesting. I have explored the DVC website. We will be staying at Pop Century in December and have considered taking the time to tour. Won't be able to buy right now, but considering it for the future. The kids are 8 and 7, so we thought it might be a good investment. Everyone claims no pressure--good to hear. Is there a general time limit on how long this will take?
