I am looking at the possibility of taking my family to Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort in South Carolina next June. We will try to book a 2-bedroom villa.Anyone been there? Any comments or suggestions? Are there water views? Thanks! ![]() |

Re: Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort
We leave Saturday for Hilton Head and cannot wait! What a great place to relax and enjoy your family. This will be our second Thanksgiving there and when I asked my kids last year if they wanted to do it again this year, it was definitely a YES! There are so many activities for the kids, I have 4 children ages 6-14 and they all had a tremendous time. For the adults, it is very laid back and beautiful. We did have a two bedroom with a view of the sound. You must ride bikes or take the shuttle down to the ocean, but they have a pool and restaurant down there as well. Disney thinks of everything. I hope you decide to go, I promise you will have a great time.

Re: Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort
We were there last Fall, just a group of adults to play golf. We loved it so much, we are heading back this Spring with our kids. The pool is great, great rooms, and a fantastic beach house and beach. We had a blast, and I can't wait for our 10 day stay!
As for room location, our room had a water view, but it was very poor due to the trees outside of our room. Not really a big deal though. We were in building 29. I like it that the building was close to parking, the pool and was very quiet. We will probalby ask for a room by the pool this time, since my kids are loud anyways, who cares if the pool is loud?

Re: Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort
I've been there.....lived there my whole life actually....now not at disney mind you..but on hilton head......but when i first opened i was a bad kid in high school and we used to sneak in the gates (it has an automatich thing and we'd always just say that we're were the ____________ family coming to check in) and go hang out by the pool or the hammocks.....i actually had my first real kiss on the dock....ahhhh.....memories...
but anyways...to all who go to hilton head and to all who are going.....Disney is in a part of HH called "Shelter Cover" there is a mall (which sucks go to the outlets) a harbor (which is cool espically at christmas) and a plaza where a piggly wiggly, tj maxx and some other shops are...there is a restuarant there called GIUSEPPI"S....it is a pizza/italtian place that honestly has the BEST FOOD IN THE WORLD.....this may sound weird..but trust me...get a wedgie....oh my god....my mouth is water so much right now.........this is a LOCAL'S favorite and not many tourist go there unless they know where it is.....it CAN NOT BE MISSED.....back in the old days...six or so years ago cinderbella worked there... but the "disney compound" (as we called it in high school) is wonderful..the pools great...the lodge is great...the have a few pool tables and hot cider!...i actually got the oppurtunity to babysit there once and the villas are amazing...but all in all..if you do nothing else but stay at the "compound" GO TO GIUSEPPI'S....and then tell me how it went.....and order the wedgie....trust me..

Re: Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort
We went a few years ago. It was very relaxing, but I suggest planning groceries in advance. The access to HH is limited to 1 road (if I remember correctly). You certainly don't want to get in that too often. The resort was fun. They were offering dolphin cruises (at a fee). Years ago, they used to allow dolphin feeding, but not now. Some of the older dolphins still come to the boats looking for food. It was a trip we will always remember. My wife, daughter and 2 friends are going this July 4th following a dance event nearby. Wish I was going!!
