DVC 10% Disney Store Discount Gone!
Another benefit that will be missed, I was just made aware at my local Disney Store in Louisiana that DVC members will no longer be getting a 10% discount.
As per the DVC Website: Information regarding the Disney Store The Disney Stores in North America have been purchased by The Children's Place and are no longer able to honor the 10% discount for Disney Vacation Club Members. (If you live in Europe or are traveling there soon, you will still receive your discount at Disney Stores in Europe.) 10% was not a lot, but it more than coverd tax.

I recently learned this as well...It is related to the Childrens Place taking over the Disney Stores.

It still works at the Disney Catalog Outlet store in Texas.

World of Disney at DTD didn't give you a discount. I asked the last time we were there and the CM told me there were no discounts for DVC members. That irritated me.

You only get a discount at WOD if you have an Annual Pass.

The DVC discount never applied at the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney. It is under a different ownership from the Disney Stores that are located throughout the U.S.
There was a discount at one time at the World of Disney through the old Disney Club, not associated with Disney Vacation Club, but that Club disappeared at the end of 2003, when Disney ended it. A previous poster is correct. Children's Place has bought out all of the Disney Stores from Disney, so they are no longer technically under the Disney umbrella, thus we lose our DVC discount. Disney sold the Disney Stores because they could never generate the profits Disney was looking for. |
