Looking to become DVC member have ?
We are thinking of joining DVC but we are wondering if it would be worth it. We would plan on using our points for Disneyland every year and DW every couple of years. Since I do not have access to points for DL I can't tell if it would be a good idea for us or not. Do any of the DL rooms accomidate a family of 5? I would really appreciate any feed back you can offer.

Being a DVC member, I do know that staying at DL is going to cost you more points than staying at WDW. That is because the hotels at DL are in a different category than the DVC properties at WDW.

Re: Looking to become DVC member have ?
I looked DL up on the points calculator b/c we are looking at DVC too, and we go to DL every few years. The calculator had Grand Californian for 28pts a night in June(sun=thurs, but Friday and Sat. were more points) and Disneyland Hotel was a little less than that(for the same 4 nights) it was going to be 99 pts total.

Re: Looking to become DVC member have ?
DL doesn't have any DVC resorts (yet)..these are just regular hotel rooms. That point total was for a standard view..the more you upgrade the VIEW, the more points it will cost you.

Re: Looking to become DVC member have ?
Just my own personal opinion, and I am sure others will disagree, but I think using DVC for DL hotel stays are probably not the best use of your points, or your money. DVC resorts provide large villa accomodations with full kitchens, laundry facilities, jacuzzi, master bedrooms etc. These are just a few things not available in a basic hotel DL hotel room. With your DVC membership you are in effect paying for these enhanced accomodations that you won't get with the basic hotel room.
Again, my opinion is you would be better off booking DL hotels through the numerous packages that are available through Disney. For a free DVD on DVC and how the program works, go to: www.disneyvacationclub.com Good Luck! |
