I remember when I spoke with my DVC rep he said I would receive an annual dues bill that will be pro-rated shortly after my closing.

Well, it popped into my head today that I don't really get that and, of course, he won't be in the office until Wednesday.

My "join date" was January 5th '06, my closing was February 1st '06.

So, do they charge you annual dues for the year ahead or the year just past?

When he said "pro-rated" what do you think he meant? I just want to be prepared for the amount of the bill... don't like those kinda suprises. hehe.

I don't claim to be an expert on this but I think they mean for the year ahead. We get an annual statement in January for the year ahead which we actually pay in 12 monthly installments. I think they will prorate yours depending on your closing date. For example is my dues were $1200 annually, I pay $100 per month. If it was prorated for 11 months since you closed in February and missed January, your dues would be about $90 a month , I think. I think you will just ahve to wait for the bill to be sure.

Got ya, that makes sense. My annual dues will only be based on 160 points so it won't be that much but it makes sense that it would be Feb. '06- Dec. '06. PRO-RATED to EXCLUDE January '06. We'll see, I will call Wed. to make sure.

All dues r due 1/15/xx for year xx, they will pro rate yours from 2/1 I have 160 at SS and it was $572.56 this yr
