Hi everyone. I am looking into renting points for Dec. 16-21 at BWV. Someone of the disboard offered to rent me the 16th (Sat.) for $280 and then 17-21 for $150 that seemed pretty high. When I asked her why she was asking so much, she said that it was sold out for those dates. Someone else who could not book it until the end of May looked last week and there was still availability for a studio on my dates. If I knew that I could get the dates that I want for 10-11 a point, I will hold out. I would really appreciate it if one of you DVC members would not mind checking on it for me! Thanks a million.

Should I wait until the end of May and try to rent points from someone else, or will there no longer be availability at BWV? Any advice you could give is very appreciated!

I'm not sure I understand you questions. Are you referring to points or dollars when you say 280 and 150? December 1-14 is Adventure season - lower points needed per night. December 15-23 changes to Choice season and the points are higher per night. Here is a points calculator that should tell you how many points per night it will cost the DVC member for your dates.

Weekend rates are much higher. You have to look at the weekly average for it to feel like a good deal. I've rented points before and I wouldn't pay more than $10 per point. I think you will find plenty of DVC members that would rent points for that price. I suppose during your dates I might be willing to pay $11 per point but no more. A DVC member can rent 12 months out at their home resort and 7 monts at other resorts. During peak times, certain properties can be very hard to aquire.

I guess I was typing too quick and left out the dollar sign. They are asking $280 for Saturday night and $150 a night for the other 3 nights. I know that comes to 57 points for the standard view--which is what this is or 71 points for the Preferred view. I was just trying to find out if my dates sell out quickly. The person who offered to rent the room to me for those prices told me that my dates were already sold out. I was just wondering if that was correct since I have no way of checking. Sorry to be so confusing.

I don't know about your dates but I have read that the first week of December is already sold out at BCV and BWV. However, $150 is still a great price for a deluxe resort.

A BWV studio is hard to comeby, so I would tend to believe that they are sold out. (For some reason, there are fewer BWV studios than at other DVC resorts)
