Renting a Studio

Hi everybody - hope you are all well and enjoying the summer. I have a question regarding renting a studio. Have any of you rented a studio? How comfortable is it for a family of four? Is it difficult to get accomodations of a studio unit during peak times in the Orlando locations? HOw much lead time do you need to give to get your request?

As always, thank you for your input and suggestions.

Best regards,

Re: Renting a Studio

We stayed in a studio at the Boardwalk one year ago this week. It was great, and we are a family of 4-daughters age 10 and 13 at the time. I'd say if they were both teenagers, it would have been more of a squeeze, but if your kids are young enough, there's plenty of room. Our home resort is VB, so we made the ressies exactly 7 months ahead of time with no problem. I will say that, since then, I've bought more points to get a bigger room next time, since we only go every 3 years, and they'll be driving us nuts in the same room by ages 13 and 16. Having said that, it might be just because my kids are, to say it mildly, quite energetic. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Re: Renting a Studio

You can easily fit 4 people in a studio but if they are all adults it's going to feel crowded. We only have an 8 year old and we have plenty of room so if your kids are young you will be just fine.

You will want to book your studio as soon as you can since they do book up during the busier times. We tried to get a studio for the last week of May and the first part of June and had to go on the wait list to get it. We were trying to book about 6 weeks before our trip so we didn't leave a lot of time but they were all fully booked.

Welcome. The big variable is the ages of everyone. Studios are simialr to any hotel/motel room you come across. Not a lot of open or free space.

Plus the second bed is a full sized fold out sofa bed. The fold out bed at SSR was really nice but our sofa bed at BC last year had seen better days. I've heard they may have replaced those but I'm not usre.

Re: Renting a Studio

We have a 3yo and a 5yo. Size-wise, the studio is the same as the typical hotel room. We get our use out of the toaster and refrigerator with breakfast in the room everyday.

We've found the big difference is in the bathroom space and the in-room laundry for the larger units. We find we really use up our clean clothes and the laundry is a huge time saver.

FWIW, we book the studio when it is just the two of us.

Re: Renting a Studio

3 adults in a BCV studio was too many! Hands down! I'd never try to fit four people in a studio--kids or no kids.

Re: Renting a Studio

We always do a studio (have since 2000). There are four of us and it works out great. Our kids are now 6 and 10. We don't spend much time in our room, we are major park commandos and use our room to sleep, shower, and eat breakfast.

Re: Renting a Studio

One suggestion: If you are worried about space, book the studio at OKW. They are slightly larger and configured much better so that they feel roomier.
