Dining Plan with DVC

Can anyone explain how the dining plan works with the DVC? Is it any different?

Absolutely identical, no difference at all as far as the plan goes. The only difference is that with a Magic Your Way plan, you pay for it in advance as part of the package, but with a DVC points stay, you pay for it when you check in.

Do i need to tell DVC that we want it now or just wait until check in? I can go ahead and make reservations when my 180 day mark comes up?

If I remember correctly, you can't add it at check in. You need to add it something like a week before. You don't pay for it until you check in though. If you know you want to use it, them go ahead and add it now so you don't forget. We added not long after we made the reservation.

Correct, you must add it before you arrive. Just like any other reservation, you can make Advanced Dining Reservations starting 180 days out from the day you check in.

You can book through them, though I've had better luck booking through the member hotline.

Another thing to mention is that you DO NOT need to buy a 1 day MYW ticket in order to get the Dining Plan if you are a DVC member or staying on points.
