when i was waiting for the DME to take me back to MCO, i was talking to a CM who drives people to the DVS seminar. he told me that as soon as they finish the last phase of saratoga (6 more buildings) they will be starting at the comtemporary. he did not have the exact time frame, but he did let me know that they would not start selling at the CR until saratoga is completely sold out. he also mentioned that they just signed up the 100,000th family a few months ago.

It will be interesting to see what happens. They formally announced the Eagle Pines DVC nearly 5 years ago, it has all but disappeared. I love to see this happen, another great alternative for DVC members, and I will think this will sway a lot of people who are on the fence.

the CM i spoke to even confirmed the design that we have been talking about on MB here. it will be interesting to see how this all pans out. they are doing something, because you can see all the construction equipment in front of it from the monorail.....

Well, after all this Contemporary and AKL buzz I decided to call my DVC rep. and just lay it on the line. He said NOBODY, from Jim Lewis down, has made ANY kind of announcements at all. He said they were told to dismiss ANYTHING about these two resorts as "rumor" completely. Although, right after that conversation he said, "well there is a code I can put in my computer with your name which will make you one of the first people we contact should it happen."

Ummm, ok, SURE put my name down for the "rumor" [wink wink] future resort. haha.

who knows, DVC is celebrating their 15th anniversary, I would have thought they would have announced it for that but SURELY they wouldn't do an announcement while a good percentage of Saratoga Springs isn't sold yet.

Even though an imagineer, for goodness sake, told me "DVC is getting AKL" I still don't count ANY chickens until Jim Lewis HIMSELF gives the official word.

Cast member at the contemporary told a friend of mine last week that the rumor they've heard is that the construction activity in the north wing is to be an 8 story dvc resort. Oh, and the same friend confirmed construction activity as they viewed it from the Monorail as well...

the south wing has half of it's parking lot covered with construction equipment.....i also heard approx 2008 for the completion......

I too hope this will happen (AKL and Contemp) but I don't have a warm fuzzy that it will happen so I'll take the wait and see approach!

after reading about all the other places that have been "confirmed" i too am taking the "show and prove" approach. hope for the best, but expect nothing.....
