Welcome Home Wednesdays
Has anyone gone to these at the Atlantic Dance Club? I am trying to figure out if it is worth going.

Re: Welcome Home Wednesdays
Sorry, we ALMOST did becasue we were staying right there at the Boardwalk but we ended up going to AK last minute instead. I have honestly not heard anything about it. The Summer Block Party was awesome though.

Re: Welcome Home Wednesdays
skwak, yes, I did this in September.
Basically, if you are in the area (We were staying at the BCV) and you do not have any other plans, it may be worth your time. Overall, I found the event to be disappointing. Lemonade and snacks (lunch box size Smart Popcorn, chips, etc.) were available for guests. There were a lot of us in attendance. There was a scrolling video presentation on a big screen at the front of the hall. When the program began, a DVC rep spoke for a few minutes and introduced a hostess who called for folks to participate in a game show. I think there were four pre-selected contestants chosen: 3 men, 1 woman.* The game was sort of tedious (they answered Disney, esp. DVC-related, trivia questions for points.) In the end, all 4 of them received a prize: some sort of DVC folding seat, I think. BTW, it was extremely loud! The hostess seemed to be shouting into the microphone and the noise was reverberating off the walls! A few doorprizes were given out; the hostess pulled out cards that we had filled out when we entered (Honestly, it appeared that she was looking at the info on the cards before she would draw one.) I think they also used the cards to select the game show participants. One of the guys who was part of the game show actually won one of the door prizes, too. I believe he was a newlywed honeymooning in WDW. Some folks I spoke with after the event felt that the program was a soft sell sales pitch (preaching to the choir!); I agreed. It was disappointing because we didn't get any news or any sort of update about DVC things, and I would have liked to just meet other members to chat about their DVC experiences (and exchanges, etc.) On the way out of the Hall, each guest received a DVC Member cap (They're all over EBay!) So, we got something (refreshments, cap) for nothing more than our time, but if I had plans to go to a park on that day, I would not have been happy to interrupt my time in the park for the Wecome Home Wednesday. *A magical coincidence: two of the game show participants had gone to high school together (CT, I think) and had not seen each other for about 20 years! They were both vacationing with their families at the same time and were in the same place for this event.
