Annual Maintenance Fee
For those of you have owned DVC for a couple of years or more, how much does the annual fee go up?

Re: Annual Maintenance Fee
I actually just called and spoke to Ron, our assigned sales agent and asked him. He said that on average it goes up 3%, but that some years it has gone up as high as 7% or actually had a -2% decrease.
3% average sounds pretty fair to me though. I told him we are interested for the future to purchase and to keep us notified of anything that comes up incentive wise

Re: Annual Maintenance Fee
oh! Is Ron Brumbaugh your agent? He is ours and he is WONDERFUL!!! I wish I would have known you were going to Ron we could have given you a referral.
I have only been a member for a year so I am not sure but one of the ladies at work has been a member for 10 years!! When we were interested we asked her about the annual fees and said it never went up enough for her family to take much notice about it. I guess that's a good thing.

Re: Annual Maintenance Fee
This annual fee is the main reason I won't buy in..... I am not a fan of time shares. I would never consider buying one, but somehow Disney is different. I just can't swallow the maintence fees that Disney would pay if it wasn't a timeshare. It would be one thing if I got equity out of it.

Re: Annual Maintenance Fee
Isn't there a discount of $15 per point for friends & family of current DVC members?? I don't think you're going to get any better than that.

Re: Annual Maintenance Fee
Goof-I thought that was a temporary promotion? If it's still in effect, I really need to know.
With the announcement of AKL being added, I think DH is finally ready to take the plunge. We are actually all set to meet our DVC rep, Jim McCoy on the first day of our December trip, to go through the whole sales pitch in person. I've been researching this for so long, but DH is the kind of guy who needs to see and touch and smell something before he dives in.

Re: Annual Maintenance Fee
We've been members since 2000 and we've only experienced one increase in our maintenance fees. That was for beach erosion at Vero Beach. They also sent us a letter explaining why. The increase was so small, that without the letter, I wouldn't have noticed. Vero Beach is one of the DVC properties where you can expect a small maintenance fee increase, because they must deal with more environmental issues. We were told that when we bought our first points at VB.

We bought into SS on Oct 8th. If you have a DVC referrel you get $15 per point towards your down payment - without a referrel it was $10. You need to let them know if you have a DVC referrel so they can put it into their system before they run the numbers for you. |

Re: Annual Maintenance Fee
The maintenance fees over the last three years have gone up steadily. The only resort that has had minimal increase is SSR in 2004 the maintenance fee per point was $3.80, the 2006 fee is now 3.98 this resort has had a minimal increase because Disney is keeping it low beacause it is still in the process of being developed. OKW was $3.68, the 2006 fee is $4.24, Vero Beach 2004 fee was 4.67/point, 2006 fee is $5.27/point. Last year OKW went from 3.86 to 4.24/ point. This is close to a 10 % increase. Vero beach over the lat two years has had an increase close to 13%. Take the information that it goes up slightly with a large grain of salt, beacause the last few years proves otherwise.

Re: Annual Maintenance Fee
Hi llama - How are you? I am puzzled, my understanding is that the maintenance fee for Vero beach is currently at $5.27 per point, I have heard that Disney is subsidizing the resort and that the fee is $4.12. I am in the process of purchasing some Vero Beach points, however, I have great concerns about the future maintenance fees. The 200 points we are looking to buy have a total maintenance fee of $1054 for 2006 use. llama have you had difficulty getting reservations at the WDW location with the 7 month window, specifically in March. How do you like the resort?

Re: Annual Maintenance Fee
OK, so if you buy 150 points at SSR, what do you pay for maintenance every year?
