Re: Question about Points and Inflation
The way I understand it, yes. The only thing that might change is how they could be used. The points seasons may change. If a week at SSR cost 100 points a week now , you will always be able to stay for a week for a 100 but the time of the year when that is possible may change. If you plan every year for the next 40 years on Oct 1 to always take a vacation, it's possible the number of points will change for THAT time period. Hope I made sense.

Re: Question about Points and Inflation
The points never inflate at the main DVC resorts (Old Key West, Hilton, Vero, Wilderness, Boardwalk, Saratoga, Beach Club). Only if there is a floating holiday e.g Easter would the points alter. Check trhe link below - the points shown have not changed since I joined 5 years ago.
Staying outside one of these resorts is totally different though ansd they can, and certaily do, go up from year to year. DVC Point Chart, Disney Vacation Club Points

Re: Question about Points and Inflation
The total number of points for a unit for the entire year remain the same. Seasons (high/low) may change but an increase in one week is offset elsewhere. So if you have enough points for a week in a 2 bedroom high season now you'll always have enough points for a week in a 2 bed high season.
The annual point fee can increase based on taxes, etc. As noted, staying at other places, GF, POLY, etc may cost you slightly more, but it still WAY below what it would cost you to rent the room. For my December trip at the Poly I figure it works out to way less than half of the per night rate.

Re: Question about Points and Inflation
Hey lovey, I was told the point values never change what-so-ever once they are set. Although, SEASONS can change, moving dates around to different point values. I've never seen them change more than a few days one side or the other.
Have a good weekend. Meet ya for laundry time on Sunday ![]()

Re: Question about Points and Inflation
There has been no point "value" change for each accomodation. (i.e. the point value for studio, 1 BR, 2 BR has been the same for each saeson.) What HAS changed is the dates of each season. The value season may swing one way or another another depending on the dates of the nearby holiday. It hasn't presented a problem for us with any vacations.

Re: Question about Points and Inflation
so basically we are "locked in" to the points we would be charged for the life of the membership

Re: Question about Points and Inflation
Thank you for the answers. They made perfect sense.
Yes, we're thinking of buying, but we're trying to decide if it's actually worth it since we already get great FL resident discounts, etc. We'd like to learn more about how it's financed, and how much those monthly payments are, how long the loan is, that kind of thing... Yes, we plan on vacationing at WDW for the next 99 years. ![]() Wish - I always look forward to our Laundry Dates on Sunday!
