Hi everybody! I have two questions: First - when does the 7 month window start. For example, if we want to book from May 20 -25, 2007, when is the earliest we can place a request for the accommodations?

Second, have any of you been down to Orlando in mid to late February, our son has reading week in Feb. specifically Feb 19-23. We are trying to determine whether to go in Feb or May. We normally travel May and Oct to Florida, weather at these times is excellent. Can you enjoy the water activities in Feb. or is it too cold.

P.S. Kim, regarding your December drive to Florida, we found having a DVD player in the car for the kids makes the drive a lot more tolerable. Have fun and hope the weather will be great for you guys.

Are you staying DVC? Is that why you are asking about the 7 month window?

As far as February, I went President's Weekend in 2004 and it was pretty crowded! It wouldn't keep me from going back during that time, though...the weather was great (not too cool, not too hot) and the crowds DEFINITELY weren't as bad as July!

And for my December drive, in 1 of our SUV, we have a DVD system so we're all set there! Problem is, DH wants to take the SMALL FUEL EFFICIENT car, of course it has NO DVD system! I told him we are just gonna have to buy one to use for the trip...we need SOMETHING to keep the kids occupied when they aren't sleeping!!!!!!!!

Hopefully we will stay in DVC, we are looking to stay either Feb or May. When is President's weekend in 2007, I am from Canada.

Kim, work on him, the first time we did the trip to Disney my wife had everything planned to keep the kids busy, we still had difficulty, the activities and scenery have no appeal after a few hundred miles. We were at about Macon county in Georgia when we looked at each other and said we would never do this again. However, we had a great time in FW, and the next year I devised a bracket that allowed us to mount a 13" tv and VCR in our van. Next to the AC installation this was the best addition for our comfort when travelling. We went regularly in May and Oct. till 2001, that's 10 years of wonderful memories.

I am pretty sure that is correct. Best thing to do is call DVC Member Services - they'll let you know. I use them for ADR's, special event tickets, etc. I always get a great response and service.

We discovered our last drive a hook up we bought at Wal-mart that allows you to connect X-Box to your DVD in the truck. Best 17 hour trip we ever had with the kids!

If your departute date is 26th May, you would have been able to make your reservation on 26th October 2006. I suggest if you know where you want to go you should move quick as the popular resorts fill up quick.
