Example of a DVC member perk

I am aware a number of people are thinking about joining the DVC. It may help you with your decision if you knew of some of the perks that members receive.

I thought I would tease/tempt you with the latest perk that DVC members have been sent.

In America you have a live TV Spectacular from Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day. Well not all the footage shown on the programme is totally live and some is shot in advance. This year advance filming has been arranged for 1st December.

DVC members have received a special invite to the filming with a special area of the park reserved for us to view the filming and possibly be in the crowd scenes.

Park admission is needed obviously but other than that it is free on a first come first served basis. I am missing out because I do not get there until 7th December. D'OH.

I assume general public members in the park will be able to see things as well but obviously they won't have a special area reserved for them.

I suppose this post also serves as a warning that the park could be very hectic on 1st December.

How cool is that? I think that DVC members should get some perks. You guys do technically "live" there..lol I hope someone on here gets to go and shares the tales. I have always wanted to go at christmas.

Unfortunately having a real home to live in is more important for us :-(

Yeah...I feel you on that one. Having tuition, car payment, car insurance....etc and etc and etc is what stops me....why can't we all just hit the lottery and be able to join DVC and have these perks

That raises another discussion/debate which is probably slightly off topic from my original post. Joining the DVC saves you money longterm compared paying for a WDW vacation every year.

John, I agree with you completely that over the life of the DVC it does save you money even factoring in the maintenance dues going up every year. BUT, the problem in our case is the initial investment. I could handle the monthly payments but that 10% down makes not worthwhile right now with us looking for a place to buy since that $1500 is part of what we would be using for a townhouse downpayment.

But somehow we will become members one day!

Another GREAT perk is $100 per adult of Regular Annual Passes!!!!!!!

In ref to the xmas parade taping at MK for the 1st of Dec, DVC members have to call starting today to member services 800-800-9800 to reserve a spot. Im on hold right now with member services trying to get in. I know that I read on the member site that you cannot use Fast Pass that day at all and that the taping time was from 7am till 12 pm and if you leave the taping area you arent allowed back in.. (ok so there goes any potty breaks I guess) The spot is supp right in front of the castle and thats were certain artist are going to be performing/taping.. (Im not sure who is going to be there though). And then Regis and Kelly will be there on Saturday the 2nd..

Ok Im off the phone with the DVC CM and WE ARE IN... We should be getting something in the mail he said in about 7-10 days with more information and free parking passes....
And you have to pay admission into the MK, I thought that it was a perk but its not.. Oh well No worries cause we got AP's so we are good to go... Im so excited...

Just wondering if anyone else is going to be there?

My kids LOVE hearing "Welcome Home" - actually we all love it. The kids have taken to calling the Beach Club "our Florida house". In the parks, they'll ask when we are going back the Florida House.

While not specifically a perk, I use DVC Member Services for nearly everything. Booking ADR's, buy event tickets, etc. Makes it very easy & great service...

That is so cool! Definitely a perk. dh and I are thinking about buying into it, but I am not sure if we can afford it!
