We just received the annual meeting announcement for SSR and as I read into the details it revealed that the annual dues will increase 3.6% from $3.98 to $4.12 per point in 2007. I was wondering how this compares for some of you who own at the other resorts?

I looked at the website a week ago. There was someone here offering to sell their points CHEAP. But when I compared the price of the annual dues to our currently scheduled trip (camping at FW, with dining & tickets), the dues were higher. Considering I haven't had a pay raise in 6 years, I'd better stick with paying for my vacation one year at a time.

I hear ya. I just have to ask what you do for a living that has kept you without a pay raise for 6 years?

You don't spend enough time in CC.

Pay's lousey. Benefits are non-existance. Days off are a rarity. BUT everytime I think "I've gotta get a new job," I find myself unable to think of something I would want to do instead.

You are correct, hardly ever CC. I'm sure that I am missing some good stuff but I keep pretty busy between work, family, friends and volunteering also (mostly coaching related).

I give you all the credit in the world. I am a Director of New Product Engineering at Tiffany & Co. Pay is very good, benefits very, very good and I feel somewhat fulfilled however, I don't see my role as accomplishing anything as significant as yours. Seriously, good for you!

I haven't seen my official letter yet, but I know OKW went up to $4.40 per point, about a 16% increase. You can see all the DVC resorts, along with their annual dues history here:

Mickey, OKW is $4.40 and was up $0.16 not 16% (actually up 3.8%). However, HHI went up $0.64 (14.7%) Wow that is a great deal.

Mickey - That link is excellent, I looked at each resort and calculated the average increases from the time the resorts opened to 2007. The average increases PER YEAR for the various resorts are as follows: OKW 3.62%, BW 2.54%, VB 4.45%, HH 4.3%, VWL 3.93%, BCV 4.2%, SSR 2.73%.

OKW is the oldest resort, it has been in operation since 1991. The average annual increase is 3.62%, if we apply this rate to the remaining 35 years, at the end of 2042 the maintenance fee per point will be approximately $15.27.

If you have 200 points, your annual maintenance fee will be about $3000.00.

Is this in line with what Disney said the average annual increase will be?

Thanks to those who reported this thread to me. Sorry for the delay in replying, but I just got back in town late last night from a Thanksgiving trip.

I see a bit tension starting in this thread. As I do understand we need to stay on topic, skwak started this thread and then within the thread asked a specific question to Cavey. Cavey then replied and the thread was again back on subject. I don't feel like it was out of hand as far as hi-jacking or chit chat especially because skwak was technically the person going off topic on a thread he created. If hi-jacking goes on post after post, then I can see a reason to move it to chit chat. For now I will keep this here and I hope that many of us will be able to learn more about the fee increases for DVC in 2007.

To reiterate what Dana said, if you have a concern about any thread, please report it to a moderator with your comments before posting them on the board for all to see. If we have newbies or guests drop in to this board, lets not let them see confrontation like they can get at other boards on the net.

Sorry, my bad. No tension here. This is MouseBuzz. Keeping the discussion on topic, I did see that HHI went up 14%+. Anybody have any idea why?
