Attn: DVC members of VWL

I have a question for DVC members of VWL. Given the limited number of units at VWL, as a DVC member at VWL do you still have problems booking a stay during peak season. I want to buy at VWL more than SSR, however, if I am going to have difficulty getting accomodations even prior to the 7 month window then maybe it's better to buy at SSR and get the extra 12 years of use.

Please give me some feedback on whether you have difficulty getting accomodations during peak season at VWL and if I should just buy at SSR.

Thanks.

Re: Attn: DVC members of VWL

We booked two rooms in end of May/first week of June a couple years back with no problem at all. We had to wait til our 7 month window. We always book a studio (don't need/want anything any bigger) and we always book our week at OKW when we can at the 11 month window and then switch the resort come time for the 7 month window. That way we KNOW we have a reservation for our vacation, even if the resort we really want is booked, we still have our home resort as back up already booked.

We never have had a pblm reserving a room with at least 6 months of our trip. Our biggest pblm and why i wouldn't advise anyone to buy into the WLV is the connection with the campgrounds to the WL. They have direct transportation and walkways, and in busy seasons, it is just too many people. The campers far out number the DVCer's in the pool and resturants. They are allowed to, but i wish i had known that before i bot. Just a heads up.

Actually I don't think they are allowed to. There is a VERY clear sign near the pool area saying that only guests of the Villas and the Lodge are able to use the pool.

Unless you are getting a SUPER deal of getting more points at WLV I think I would personally buy at Saratoga to have the 12 extra years, I mean that's more than a DECADE!!

Re: Attn: DVC members of VWL

Im sure there is a sign, but the last time i was there 2 years ago, people were coming off of the ferry dock in bathing suits and looking for chairs at the pool. A lot of people. If guests at the ASR had direct access to the GF, where do you think they would be spending most of thier time? It is just someting to consider. And the 12 years would make a big diff. in making up my mind.
