Member Services and Travel

Let me tell you I have spent all morning checking and searching air fares... I have been looking on expedia,travelocity,kyak,hotwire,priceline and Southwest....

then I called Member Services- the best fare for Delta I had found (the only direct flight out of Hartford other than Southwest) was for $212 per person after all the fees and such. Two min later it went up to $222. But Member Services cost was $207pp... not too much a difference but when you multiply it by 6 its big enough to put a smile on my face! That is about as good as Southwest gets for us around May and it includes the return ME service! WooHoo!! Im loving this!

Member Services, as in DVC Member Services!?!?!? Get out of town! I had no idea they can handle that stuff! Oh man oh man.... I am really happy! And congrats on your great deal! $207 is a good price for RT tickets anytime!

it gets better- it was cheaper than Delta's own site! I even called and Delta was charging $227 per person plus a $20 telephone charge!

I just called MS last night to book airfare -- I got a not-too-happy CM who was mad because their computer system was down. He said to just go ahead and book it myself because they don't get discounts anyway.

I think he said his name was "Grumpy."

I have to go try again today and see if I can get a nicer CM who is willing to try to find some magic for me. Maybe this call I will get in touch with his brother "Happy."

I had a CM when I called to book those actual fares tell me that the fares are on the rise and that I would be better going online because the other sites buy in blocks and can offer whatever they want making them competetive. He was very nice but could no longer get me that cheaper fare. I would try that priceline fare- if its a name your own you have to be aware that they may be putting you on a layover flight- I normally got a layover when I got that crazy cheap fare. But its only one layover so its not too bad-
