Old Key West again!

I called DVC this morning (we're 7 months out for our October trip as of today) and EVERYTHING was booked solid except for SSR & OKW! What in the WORLD is goin' on there between Oct 8th-15th? Which, by the way, is a Wed.-Wed.! Am I missing something here? I thought FOR SURE I'd be able to get AKV, if I don't stay at AKL again sometime in the near future I think I'm gonna

.

Anyway, so we're currently booked at OKW and have AKV & WLV waitlisted. I'm not dissapointed b/c OKW is beautiful & fun.

Although, I have a question....

Which building should I request? When we stayed their on Girl Trip we had a rental car so I never really got a feel for the whole 'scope' of the place as far as layout & size. When I stay at SSR I MUST be in "springs" b/c I like to be where all the action is.

Do you have any suggestions as to what I can request?

Request any building in the 60's...16,17 and 18 are ok too. I think the other ones that are fairly close to the main of things are 21 - 23. Hope you get AKV!

Wish, I have NO clue. I only stayed there once and had a perfect building, right near the bus stop and the main building.

I just want to say Good Luck getting your wish list! And if you don't get it, you'll still have an amazing time at OKW!

ETA...oh yeah! It's Columbus Day weekend! That's probably why it's booked.

Is that still Food and wine? I bet your waitlist comes through, you have a long time. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

The part of DVC I love is that all the resorts are beautiful so you can't go wrong with any of them.

I think it's the height of Food and Wine..those are the dates we went for our honeymoon in '06 and we expected low crowds but with Columbus Day holiday, Food and Wine, and a lot of schools having a "fall break" (esp. year round schools) there were lots more people there than we expected! It is still an awesome time to go though!

OKW looks terrific... the rooms are gigantic in the photos! Are you going to use a grocery service? Which one?

Oh my gosh, yes, I TOTALLY forgot about Columbus weekend AND Food & Wine. I bet that's the deal too!

MissDis, I do plan on using the grocery delivery for breakfast stuff & drinks. I just use the DVC one b/c we generally don't order a whole lot & I love having it in our room when we arrive.
