Grand Villa
Has anyone stayed in a Grand Villa? Are they as beautiful as they look?
One of the conditions of DH agreeing to buying DVC (Not that it was THAT hard to convince him ) was that after our DLRP trip this year, we would bank the rest of our points for this year (and borrow some from the following too) so we could save them for a big family trip next year. The plan is for DH and I, my MIL, and my two sets of SIL/BIL's to go down in early December and stay at an AKV grand villa for a week. Oh, and also my new niece/nephew who will arrive this August. And maybe even a little one of our own if things work out as planned. That means a loooong time for me to wait to use my points and stay at AKV, but its a sacrifice I had to make to make this DVC membership happen So no regrets since its a long term thing and I have so many years of awesome DVC vacations ahead, right? Are they spacious enough for a family of this size? I would think my MIL would get the master bedroom, SIL1/BIL1 and baby would get a room with 2 beds, DH and I would get a room with 2 beds, and SIL2/BIL2 would get one of the pull out sofas (There will be 2 of these in the Kidani Village Grand Villas) Just wondering if anyone has done a big family vacation and how it worked out with the space in a Grand Villa. Is it crazy to think I am looking forward to going "home" to AKV next year, more than my upcoming Paris, Brussels, and DLRP Paris trip? ![]() |

Re: Grand Villa
It is my fantasy!!!
Our neighbors stay there fairly often... I guess every couple of years or so. Teh pics look amazing! But I think I might be torn in two directions if I had a room like that... "Should we go to the parks?" "Should we stay and enjoy the room?" You get the idea! I would love to win a week in a GV somehow...

Re: Grand Villa
I have to say I have never stayed in the Grand Villas but your plan looks good. With the room plans it seems very large. Plus they web page has a virtual tour and look very large. Have you seen that yet? I see your point, my parents get the master bedroom when we go but we have a joint membership. I hope she knows how specialshe is to get the best room in the house! We're heading in Dec too but only to a 2 bedroom.

I'm obsessed and miss WDW so much right now. And now that we've joined DVC, I am just dying to get back! They do look large there, so hopefully the 360 view isn't deceiving. My MIL is absolutely in love with AKL, so she was sooooo thrilled when we showed her the 360 view, layouts, pics of the grand villa we'd like to book. She knows she's special to get the master room. She'd better know it! ![]() |
