Considering DVC....
I am mulling over DVC in my mind and I was wondering....
Do you have to stay at a DVC property or can you still use points to stay at other Disney resorts: values, mods, and deluxe?

You can stay at other places, but they will charge you a $95
'processing fee.' Hey you guys type too fast.

While you can use the points this way, it never looks even remotely cost effective. I'd pay out of pocket before I used my points to stay in a hotel. The most "cost effective" use of points is always your home resort and/or other DVC sites. Look at the point cost per night.

I just wanted to let you know that you get your money's worth at the DVC resorts!! I hope you make the leap, and join DVC... you will not be disappointed!!!!

I agree with Elmo... it looked to me like I wouldn;t use the very valuable points to stay at a resort. I am very new to this, and in fact, our first trip as owners is not happening until December... but the chart in the purchase materials made me feel like the regular resorts with points wasn't a great deal...

I have stayed at both DVC and Poly on points. Now that they've added the stupid $95 reservation fee, you can be paying MORE than the rack rate.
You were already paying a premium in points to stay at one of the other resorts anyway. If I want to stay at one of the NON-DVC places now I'll rent the points and pay cash from now on.
