Ohio has 4,000 members. Good luck getting your DH to go for it.

I schooled you well! If anything I learned growing up in NJ it was how to vacation hard. If people in NJ have some time off they are either RVing, camping, traveling, skiing, going to the shore, spending time at their timeshares or vacation homes, or just traveling period. I know at LEAST 3 teachers at work who own several different timeshares; like Hilton & Disney.

It's insanity, but I it! We're movers & shakers.

I think I belong in New Jersey! I would love to be that way!

Around here, people head for the beach if the weather's nice...and the "upper-class" folk head to Hawaii during the winter. That's about it. Most of these people need to get out more.

Re: NY & NJ top the charts in "DVC households!"

This is a great thread!

Without getting too serious, I think what you are seeing is a combination of distance from Disneyworld and Economic Income. I am not at all surprised by the lower ownership from states far away or ones that have much lower average annual incomes. The DVC costs that same whether you have a lower income salary in say Alabama (sorry, had to pick on one state) or a higher gross salary in NJ. I think DVC ownership is a good snapshot of the economic divergence in America.

Sorry for being so heavy!

It would be interesting to see a ratio or percentage of owners versus the overall population of a state. Some states have very large populations, so you would expect an overall higher number of members.

OR, you could be one of the unfortunates ones with a low combined income AND live in NJ. That would be us, feeling like everyone around us makes double or triple our salaries.

I know what you mean. That's why I stressed "gross income". With the cost of living in NJ, my net income is no more than someone from a 3rd World Nation!

But I wouldn't trade it for the world!! We literally have "the world at our feet" living here. The beach, the city, EVERYTHING... [still would like a bigger salary though. ]
