DVC has been running a special promotion where a person can buy into DVC at AKV for just 100 points ($9,600). The maintenance fees on that would be $471 per year, or $39.25 per month.

You can always rent points. Never gone about doing it as I own at AKL but don't look at me, already using my points. But I know there are people who rent the points out if they aren't using them. Try that route too!

Not when you consider that paying cash for one night in December is $600.

How do the points work? Certain resorts require certain points? I go for an average of 25 days each year (spread throughout the year) Most are weekend trips. How many points would I have to buy to still do this as a DVC memeber?

Thanks for the info!

For an overview, go to MouseOwners.com - The Web's Most Friendly and Reliable Source for Information on the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) and click on "DVC Information and News". The "Program Basics" section should answer your questions.

That would cost a pretty penny! 25 nights on a weekend will be SUPER expensive, considering many DVCers move on the weekend to a Value or Moderate resort to save on points! They are DOUBLE (or more!) on weekends!
