Annoyed at DVC

Just a little vent. Would you be annoyed with this?

I mentioned in another thread. Originally we purchased 50 additional points, for our current use year, March 08. Paid deposit.

Paperwork arrives - its for March 09. We need the 08 points. Call DVC, they made a mistake, we are put on a waitlist for March 08. I don't send back the paperwork for this.

Waitlist doesn't look good though.

New offer comes out - we cancel March 08 waitlist, buy the 100 points for March 09. Get 100 developer points and gift card. Yay!

I signed and sent the paperwork back yesterday.

Today I find out our waitlist went through and they re-wrote our contract again, giving us the 50 March 08 points. I only find this out by checking the points balances on the website.

I call. Talk to 4 different people. Finally get my guide who says they made a mistake in re-writing again. Now she has to re-write it AGAIN to put it back to the 100 points we have agreed to get.

Which means I have to do the paperwork again, and get it notarized again - and pay another $60 bucks to do so.

They apologized alot, I know it was a mistake. And I know its only $60 - but I don't want to pay it again, or spend time going to get it notarized again.

And now I can't call today to make my reservation for my developer points since its not updated yet, so I have to wait for that too.

So annoyed right now.

Vent over - thanks for listening.

Re: Annoyed at DVC

Wow! I would be annoyed.

I'm also wondering where you have to get this notarized at for $60. You would be better off getting your notary license at that rate. Most places around here charge $5 per packet. My sis is a notary as she works for the police and she notarizes for people on the side for a dollar a packet.

I wish you lived closer to Ohio, I would have her notarize it for you for free.

Your bank or AAA generally will notarize for free for customers.

Re: Annoyed at DVC

I don't know any notaries personally, which is why I have to go through a lawyer or notary office.

Banks in Canada generally do not provide this service.

Stupid $60!

Re: Annoyed at DVC

Yes, I too would be annoyed at this point. You have every right to be. The transaction should not be this difficult.

I would definitely check with your local bank, they may offer the service but not advertise it that well. We had to do that with some real estate paperwork before we moved to Texas.

Any chance DVC will reimburse you since it was their error?

Sorry you had a tough time... your insurance office would likely have a notary, if your bank doesn't have anyone who will do it for you.

WOW!! I'd be quite annoyed too!!! You'd think with as much money as you are giving them to buy more points they would have had it right in the first place!! And the $60 for getting those papers notarized...60$ is alot when you have to keep putting that out over and over!! The least they can do is reimburse you for that amount especially when this is their fault!!

Re: Annoyed at DVC

Boy oh boy, I would be annoyed too!

I really think you should talk to DVC again (as many more people as it takes) to see if they will cover the notary charges. You should not be having to fork over that much money in addition to all the $$ DVC already costs...and especially not when it's someone else's fault! Dealing with their repeat mistakes must be frustrating enough, but the fact that it's costing you money is just ludicrous!

Re: Annoyed at DVC

Perhaps you should see if they can hook up with a gift card to cover your loss, or perhaps credit to your annual fees? Since it is their mistake, why should you be the one left out to dry?

Re: Annoyed at DVC

Thanks guys! I called my guide last night and hse is going to try and get a credit for me.
I think she said they can apply it to my annual dues, so that's good.

Still annoyed about it - just a little less so now. I just want this to be finalized now!

Sounds .

No one is perfect, not even Disney. The nice part is that Disney usually makes an great effort to right the wrongs.

Good Luck!

Hang in there!

I find if you're nice when you have a complaint, you may end up with some "extras" to help right the situation.

Good, I hope they can try to make it up to you! I would be so frustrated by forking over that extra money...if they can credit it toward your dues, that's great!

Ah- new paperwork signed and sent, credit applied to our annual dues for the hassle - all is well in the world now :-)
Can't wait to go "home" in less than 6 weeks!
