Developer Points Incentive for BLT

DVC is now offering matching Developer Points when you purchase at Bay Lake Tower (min 100 point add-on for existing members). The points may be used at SSR, DLR or World Passport Collection by Oct 2009.

Wow, that's too bad for the people who bought in last month. I guess that's the chance you take when you buy, there could a be a better offer later.

But we get out names in the fountain.

They gave even better incentives on the Member Cruise, which didn't make me happy either.

I'd buy more BLT but I've got to sell SSR points. So if anybody's looking...

I kinda felt like this was coming when we bought in last month, ALTHOUGH I really could only afford the add-on at that discounted rate they were offering for a VERY short time to DVC members. If I would have waited for these developer points, just to get them as a bonus, my package price would have been a couple thousand dollars more expensive. Not worth it to me, especially when I was trying to stay under a certain price point.

Developer points or not, I CANNOT pay the $112./per point. Glad I got the DVC discount.

I have a feeling there will be more offers as time goes on though. Eventually ONE of them is bound to tick me off that I didn't wait... but not this one.

PS: Did anyone see Bob Iger on CNBC's "Fast Money" tonight? Yeah, there will be more BLT incentives coming I assume from the way he was talking.

Very tempting. I did just read that Disney's earnings are down, and that bookings for early 2009 are down about 10% from last year.

DVC is offering the matching Developer Points in addition to the $5 per point discount. You get both, which is better than any deal except the one that was offered on the Member Cruise in Sept.

When I was there last weekend . . . they were giving a $1000 GC which you could use towards your down payment if you bought AKL, which I was told is "Selling out fast, so I should act now!"

I thought that was interesting.

DVC has reduced the AKV incentive. It was $8 off per point, but now is only $6.25 off per point. That's why you save $1000 on 160 AKV points. You used to save $1,280 with the prior AKV incentive.

While reducing the AKV incentive, they have raised the BLT incentive by adding on the matching set of developer points to the $5 per point discount.

And no, AKV is not selling out fast.

I was so happy to see this until I saw you had to buy 100 points. We were thinking of getting 60.

Don't think I could convince my DH to do that.
