But HOW in the world are you able to get 4 weeks off? Unless you're a teacher! Although, I am not sure I'd want to go during all those busy non-school day times.

I get the time off but could never afford 1,000+ points.

Yeah, as a teacher we definately get MORE than 4 weeks off. But once again, I DO NOT want to do during those scary busy times.

Thanks for that reminder. I had a dream that we took our 'long trip' in the slow months once, then I woke up.

Oh wow! Daniel only gets a week and his boss STILL makes him feel like a jerk when he takes it.

I'm just guessing, but is Daniel in the Automotive business? DH is and you just described what he goes through his entire career.

Re: New DVC Pricing & Incentives

Wow these incentives are certainly tempting - I've been just looking for a reason to buy at BLT... but I don't think I should be spending the money right now with a baby on the way! That would be wrong, right? lol

I get 4 weeks vacation per year plus Xmas holidays (almost 2 weeks) - but my DH has a rule of only 1 Disney vacation per year, and we go somewhere else for our other vacation, so I don't think more than my already 260 points would get used.

Why must Disney torture me with these great incentives :-(

Re: New DVC Pricing & Incentives

DH gets vacation whenever he wants. His company's view on vacation is, because he's so high up in the company (he's a managing director and Senior VP) they figure if he needs a break (read: burned out) then he should take it. They don't count vacation days for executive staff for this reason. They generally refer to it as mental health days. I think in the last year he took 2 weeks off when our baby was born (last Oct) and then another full week at Thanksgiving. He's planning to take a week off in May and then he'll take another full week (and a couple days prob) when we go to WDW in Sept. I sure wish we could go to WDW on more of these vacations! We never go anywhere or DO anything on them...just time for him to be away from work.

That's a nice policy. Although, unfortunately, it's often the people who AREN'T so high up who are also REALLY in need of vacation time. Daniel works HARD, like real physical hard work, on top of managing difficult people every week & I just hate that his boss gives him only 1 week of vacation a year AND treats him like a jerk for taking it.

Ahhhh, to be one of the 'high ups.' That would be nice!
