this maybe kinda a dumb ? but...
when you purchase dvc property does it run much like that of a mortgage payment and or car payment ? i was wondering how it all worked for this, i think next year will may get to purchase property by using some of tax return toward it. i never have heard anyone say anything about teh purchasing process and was wondering how the red tape is or if it is fairly simple.

Please remember that there are no dumb questions. This is a very smart and responsible question. We've been members of the DVC since 1999, and it's been an absolute joy for us. One of the best investments that we have ever made. I wish I could answer your questions, but unfortunately, I am one of those airheads who let her husband take care of the whole thing (I'm setting women's lib back 20 years), but if you scroll through the DVC section you will probably find all your answers. I seem to remember this subject being very thoroughly reviewed a few months ago.

The purchasing process is fairly simple. Your sales rep will send you papers that you need to sign and return to them. You can pay cash or finance your DVC purchase. You can choose to finance your purchase through DVC or arrange terms yourself elsewhere. If financed, you will have a monthly payment for the loan portion, just like a mortgage. You will also have monthly payments for your annual dues, unless you pay them in one lump payment every year.

In simple terms, yes it's like your car payment.
I bought at Beach Club Villas in March 2002 through DVC. They simply take my payment & fee's directly out of my bank account on a monthly basis. Very simple. :D |
