Grumpy?

Just a quick question for all of you DVC'ers:

Does it kinda tick you off that WDW keeps releasing room only discounts like the one that they just did through the Disney VISA? Is it just me or am I the only one that it kind of bugs?:hmmm

??? Not sure I understand. I kinda thought the Disney Visa was the Eisner way of replacing the Disney Club card with a more profitable solution that still provided a few special offers. It makes sense to me that a Disney Visa would offer exclusive Disney perks, otherwise, why have it in the first place. Maybe I just don't understand where you are coming from on this. :)

Sorry, I probably didn't explain myself very well. I understand the Disney VISA concept. We have one and even used it to book our fairytale package last year.

I just find it a bit (little bit, I admit) disturbing that these really juicy discounts stress the room only which we, as DVC "members", can't really take advantage of. It seems like as members, the juicy discounts should be coming our way. Maybe in the form of more park ticket discounts.

I may be way off base on this (hence, the Goofy avatar). It just kinda rubs me a bit.:madmad

The hotel discounts are nice when you don't want to use your points for a stay, or a portion of your stay, such as on Fri-Sat nights. But if I'm staying on points, the hotel discounts don't impact my stay, so I don't quite understand why you are ticked off at the hotel discounts.

I guess I'm just off base on this topic. I suppose that I feel a bit cheated since I really can't take full advantage of room only specials. I just think it would be nice if they geared some of the specials so that DVC members could take better advantage along with the general public.

Sorry, if I am way off base. I am sure that three years from now after I have used my DVC members three times I will not feel nearly as slighted.

Sorry.

I hear what you are saying...it would be nice if the "perks" offered the flexibility of discounts on tickets, meals, etc. It's like getting a free steak dinner when you are a vegetarian.

I guess the way they look at it, half of their battle is to get somebody staying on site, then they can pile up the profits on everything else.

If I'm playing Devil's advocate, strictly looking at margins, I already have you (and all DVC'ers) going there. With that already accomplished, why would they want to lower their margin when we'll all spend the $$ anyway?

That being said, I wouldn't consider a Disney Visa if the only "juicy perks" I can get is something I really cannot use.

DVC members do get discounts on some tickets and some meals as well as other "perks". There is also a discount on some hotel ressies if you go through Member Services.
