New discount codes for WDW released, Oct - Dec.

Mousesavers is reporting that WDW has released new discount codes for room only, DisneyClub discounts, and rooms with Ultimate Park Hopper Passes included:

Ask for Code CKO and get up to 40% off rack rates on "room only" reservations at most of the Disney resorts for check-ins 10/3/02-12/25/02. You must book by September 23. Rooms at the discounted rates are limited and subject to availability.

If you want a room at the discounted rate, plus Ultimate Hopper Passes, ask for Code CLN. If you want a specially priced version of the Discovery Magic package (does not include access to the private viewing areas), ask for Code CLO. There are Disney Club versions of Codes CKO and CLN above. The room plus Ultimate Hopper Pass version qualifies for an additional $50 per booking discount from Disney Club!

Do codes like these come out often? I ask because my wife and I will be there next Spring for 2 nights on a quick getaway from the baby and the inlaws. We think we're staying off-site to save $$, but the rates there look really good, and would make the little bit more money we'd need to pay worth it.

I'm "watching" mouse savers, but any newer info would be great.

Codes come out about a month before the first date they are available for. There will be some more codes released the first of December for the period of 1/1/02 until sometime in med-February. That will be it for codes until after Spring Break.

A lot of it depends upon how full the resorts are getting. Last Spring, WDW released a "last minute" code, as well as codes for Canadian residents and residents of Southern States. My guess is we will see the same thing here. If you are planning on going during the last half of February, March or early April, my guess is there won't be any codes unless WDW targets your state. (Last year, it was FL, LA, GA, NC and SC ) The last minute code was for the March timeframe, between President's Day and Spring Break.

If you have made reservations through either the Disney Club or AAA and THEN the codes come out for the time you are already reserved, can your existing reservation be adjusted? Or do you have to cancel and start all over again? We all want the best rate, but sometimes it gets confusing!!?!

Yes, they will need to be cancelled and re-booked. Your travel agent shouldn't have any problem booking your new reservation using one of the codes and then cancelling the old one. Most people save a substantial amount of money, and it is worth the hassle.

I've done this before as well. I called and did have to change resorts to get the rate. In my case, I had to move from All Star Movies to All Star Music. Big Deal! I'm happy to move 500 yards to save $40 a night.

This thread is 6 years old and the information is out of date so I'm closing it. Please start a new thread instead of bumping very old threads.
