In a surprise announcement, Walt Disney World has announced that Surprise Mornings, or early entry for WDW resort guests, will return as of October 1, 2002. The Character Caravan, which took the place of Surprise Mornings last Fall, will no longer be in existence as of October 1. More details to follow.

It's about time Disney starts listening to their guests!! Now, if they only listen to us on reinstituting the AP lounges... :D :D
Brum, I would go to the EE park, but book out of there and hop to another park when it starts getting really busy. My guess that the least busy park would be the park that has an EE scheduled the following morning. Make sense?

Of course none of these EE days work with my shcedule...LOL its all good..I can redo my trip plans again. It's worth getting to take advantage of EE...Let's hope they squeeze out a E-night. I doubt it with the extended hours and parade shows etc...but you never know.

As a follow up, the program will now be called the "Extra Magic Hour". Parks will be open one hour prior to the scheduled time. Resort id will be required to enter the park before the scheduled opening time.
By the way, Disney has also extended the 100 Years of Magic for an extra two months, and it will now end on February 28, 2003.

Good idea. I could have taken advantage of that if I would have just scheduled my trip for the week ending the 11th. Oh well. It's still going to be a fabulous trip. At least I get to have "Magic Hour".

Great news about the Extra Magic Hour... wish it could have started a little earlier though! We just got back today and I'm feeling a little down. Had to log on to DC for a Disney pick-me-up! Extra good news for anyone going soon, the lines were amazing. We walked right on most everything and rides with waits were never more than 5-10 min.

Louise welcome to Disney Central. Keep reading, this site is bound to turn bad days around with all of the great tips! Enjoy your early entry days!!
I must say that we really did enjoy the Character Caravans at the Polynesian last week though. On our off days, my daughter was able to see Lilo, Stitch, Meeko, Capt. Hook, Mr. Smee, Baloo and Minnie without leaving the resort. EE days are a real treat during the more crowded times though! |
