Re: Free Dining plan is back at WDW

Just got back had the dinning plan and it was great I estimated we ate about 1200.00 worth of food for the price of 600.00. To bad I did not know they were going to offer this again. Oh well anyopne going during that time it is a great deal. Makes me want to go again

Re: Free Dining plan is back at WDW

Okay people, help me out here!!

What does free dining MEAN????

We've stayed at resorts with concierge level rooms -which is the continental breakfast, snacks, drinks, etc.

But WHERE do you get free dining - what restaurants? Or do you have credits/ passes?? Is it only for the cafeteria style places at the hotels? How does it work - or please post a link for somewhere that explains it for me so you don't have to type!

I just went to Disney over St. Patrick's Day with my girlfriend - 2 Mom's - we went without husbands and kids! That was difficult!! But we had so much fun. And as someone who ususally has been to Disney in the summer, the weather was beautiful during the day - a bit TOO chilly for me at night. But hey - I didn't care.

So - let me know about the Dining! Thank you!

Check out the above link. It will explain a lot. It is not just "cafeteria style" places. It is Magic Your Way package that you normally add to your trip but they are offering it for free during this time period. You can also find the list of restaurants at the above site.

Hope this helps!

That is a very good explanation of it.

And, by the way, Hi Lisa!! Good to see you again!

Hi! It's good to be back. I really, really want to go to WDW and I used to be here to take care of my craving but it ended up making me sad so now here I am trying to convince my DH for a trip this year. I hope this free dining will push him to say yes! So I will either be around for a long time or back into my Disney depression. We'll see! I do miss everyone though.

Re: Free Dining plan is back at WDW

couple of questions....when you book for the dining plan do you tell them you want it or do they just automatically set it up? Also, to book the package do you go through the disney site, or mouseketrips? And one more...can you make payments for both agents? I am thinking taking a different vacation and then going to disney in aug/sept now instead of going in july 4th like the original plan. Thanks!!!

Re: Free Dining plan is back at WDW

No matter what it is, you should tell them you want it. It's part of the package for that time period... but always tell them everything you want. It helps keep mistakes to a minimum.

You can book the trip through the Disney site or through Mousketrips. Mousketrips won't cost you anything more, and that way someone else is doing the work for you.

I'm not sure what you mean by "make payments for both agents".

I don't know about mousektrips but through WDW you can. You have to send a deposit then they will tell you your balance and when it's due. You can continue to send payments through the due date and pay it off by the due date. I hope that answers your question.

WOW! I'm so glad they brought back the free dining!

I'll have to do the math and decide if it's worth it for us or not...chances are if we go to WDW this fall (like I'm PRAYING we will!), we will use CM discounts thanks to DH. But all that food for free?? That adds up to a lot of savings!

We usually go every three years or so, but we are sorely tempted this time...not only free dining but I scored a $250 flight voucher last week!

Re: Free Dining plan is back at WDW

This might be a stupid question, but I've read where some people that were AP holders were able to take advantage of the free dining plan by purchasing a one day Magic Your Way ticket or something like that. Can someone help me out?

That is what i did... I just booked my free dining package as a magic your way package (no AP discount or anything) with a one day base ticket for each of us. I am hoping to be able to use my AP's for park entry but save the 1 day pass for a future visit after my passes expire.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use the 1 day passes for another person in our party's park entry? there are 8 of us going, and only 4 of us have AP's, and the other 4 have the one day base ticket. do you know if they would also be able to use our unused 1 day base ticket?

I am confused, how does the dining work for the remainder of your stay if you only buy a one day ticket?

Re: Free Dining plan is back at WDW

If you want to go to the parks for more than a day you would have to all ready have tickets or buy more days. Your park pass and dining credits are not related to each other, you just have to have the ticket to make your reservation a package.

That shouldn't be a problem. The ticket shouldn't have a name on it so anyone should be able to use it. I think the only time it would be a problem is if it was a multi day ticket and had already been scanned.
