Walt Disney World has released new room only and Magic Your Way package discounts for check in dates between August 19 and September 30. The discounts are identical, you can either do room only or a Magic Your Way package. The discounts are off of the rack rates, and are as follows:

• Disney's Value Resorts - $15 discount per night during Value Season, $20 discount during Regular Season
• Disney's Moderate Resorts - $40 discount during Value Season, $45 discount during Regular Season
• Disney's Deluxe Resorts - $70 discount during Value Season

Regular season is August 19 - August 26, while value season is August 27 - September 30. The Disney deluxe resorts are value season during the entire length of the discount.

Would these room-only discounts with the code work out to be less than the AAA discounts for room only? I was quoted the following by Disney.

Arrival after 8-27
AAA discount
room only

PoP - preferred room $72 per night
All Star resorts Standard room $63 per night.

I just tried to change a ressie at POP and was told they only have openings at ALL Star music and sports.

Well, during value season, a standard room at the value resorts would be $77 per night, less the $15 discount would be about $62 per night plus tax, saving you a grand total of $1 per night. However, availability would be different using these discount than what you were given with the AAA, so it my be worth checking.

Ok thanks Mickey. Since moneywise, it's about the same, I guess it'll just go by which has better availibility. She's going to book this week.

This is probably a silly question, but if I am already booked for the free dining package during that time, can you call Disney to get the discount? Or to upgrade to a mod/deluxe? Or can you only get one discount (free dining) or the other?

Not silly at all. You can only do one or the other, not both discounts. In the vast majority of cases, the free dining is a better deal. I would stick with what you have and start training for all the food you will be getting for free.

What's the availability for Pop Century September 8th and 9th for the AP room only discount?

WOW! It has been a LONG time since I've been on here. We still love living only 45 minutes from Disney and go often.

I was wondering since I'm a FL resident and an AP holder, should I wait to book a reservation in September?

We don't think we will be able to renew our passes that are up in the fall , so we wanted to plan a big BLOW out weekend at one of the Deluxe Resorts.

LuvWDW, no, if you are going, get a room reserved with this discount as soon as you can. If a FL resident deal comes along it might be only $5 - $10 per night better, but you should be able to change this reservation into a FL resident one no problem if you decide to go that way.

I just called Disney to book a room between August 31st, through September 2nd and the rates were the same. It could have been that the young lady I spoke to was less than impressed with talking to me.
