Lion King comig to DVD!
Disney has announced that the Lion King will be released on DVD October 7, 2003, and will receive a special "Platinum Edition" treatment. The synopsis follows:
From the magnificent musical opening over breathtaking African vistas to its rip-roaring emotionally charged climax, THE LION KING reigns supreme as animation's greatest crowning achievement. Set amid the majestic beauty of the Serengeti, Disney's epic coming-of-age saga tells of the love between a proud lion ruler, Mufasa, and his son Simba -- a naive and curious cub who "just can't wait to be king." Out from the shadows prowl Simba's envious Uncle Scar and his hyena henchmen. Their scheming for the throne leads to tragedy ... and Simba's exile from the kingdom he should rightfully rule. Befriended by the warmhearted warthog Pumbaa and his manic meerkat companion, Timon, Simba forgets his regal responsibilities and adopts the carefree lifestyle of "Hakuna Matata." I have been waiting for this since I was first in Circuit City purchasing my DVD 5 years ago. Finally, the greatest Disney Animated Classic will get what it deserves.

I'm very excited about this DVD release. I watched this movie while I was pregnant w/my son. Watching that movie just brings back all my happiness and joy from being pregnant! Of course we have it on video, but when it is release on DVD, we will be there buying it!!:D

I am so excited since i can now get it on dvd since i lost my vcr tape of it I was extremely depressed now I am happy again :)

I can't wait to get this DVD. This has to be one of my all time favorite Disney movies. We are just now getting into DVDs and have to start replacing all of our Disney VHS movies. What a way to start our DVD collection!

Finally another released classic....
But what about "The Little Mermaid"? Anybody have the insider news about that classic??!! My 7 and 3 y.o. DD's love it and i have the video for them--Ok the video came out a couple years before my oldest was even around so i really bought it for my cat:whistle:-- but the video does not sound as good on my Movie Theatre system as a DVD would. Plus i HATE rewinding now!!! Thanks in advance! sneaky |

NOOOOOO-- how did that one come out and i never heard about it up here in New England!!!! :nooo: Two years ago, (let me think back) I must have been walking in my sleep most of the time changing diapers and making formula to have noticed!  Darn it! sneaky |
