Icon4 Disney World 2008 Free Dining for Disney VISA cardholders

Travel Dates: August 24 - September 20, 2008

Walt Disney World has announced the “Free Dining” promotion for the fourth consecutive year. Currently, the discount is only available to Disney VISA cardholders, though it will be released to the general public starting on April 10. With the “Free Dining” promotion, Disney resort guests who book a Magic Your Way package that includes both your Disney resort room and your Magic Your Way park passes, will receive the Disney Dining plan add-on for free for all guest three and older in their party.

For the first time, Disney World guests will be able to book the “Free Dining”, and upgrade to the Disney Deluxe Dining for the normal price difference, which is $31 for adults and $10 for children three to nine. The Wine and Dine option is also available at full price to add onto either the Basic or Deluxe dining plans.

Availability is extremely limited, and must be booked by June 22, 2008. To receive the Disney VISA cardholder discount, you must pay your deposit at time of booking with your Disney VISA, and you must pay the balance with your Disney VISA card as well, when due. As a reminder, this exact discount will be released on April 10 to the general public without the Disney VISA requirements.

To book this special Disney VISA “Free Dining” vacation package, please contact our great sponsor Mouseketrips, and ask for the appropriate code:

CMK - Magic Your Way Dining Plan
CMM - Magic Your Way Dining Plan plus Wine and Dine
CMP - Magic Your Way Deluxe Dining Plan
CMS - Magic Your Way Deluxe Dining Plan plus Wine and Dine

I will try to follow up with more information as I am able to get it.

Oh my gosh, I just changed my reservation to Sept 19-27, got the free dining. 8 night stay, POP preferred location, park hopper tickets - no water park, for $1418.64

Unbelievable!

I am calling RIGHT on the 10th, since sadly I don't have a visa . . . I don't do credit cards (no control!)

I looked into this a while back.
Even if you check in on the last day of the promo you get the package for your whole stay.
Awesome!

Re: Disney World 2008 Free Dining for Disney VISA cardholders

After waiting on hold for one full hour with only one bar of battery left on my cell phone, I was able to add free dining to my POR reservation for Sept. 19-28. Woohoo!
The whole time I was on hold I kept saying to myself: This phone better stay charged!

Thank you MouseBuzz!

I know what you mean. I called twice at 6:59 am and got the message they were not open yet. the next redial I got through and was on hold 45 minutes! It's hard to believe THAT many people got ahead of me?

OMG if I were on the cell phone and it went dead, I would have died!

As long as you book your first day before the 20th, you qualify.

Congrats everyone!!! I hadn't even thought about how they would do the different packages that they have now! How awesome that you can upgrade to the Deluxe for only $31.00!!
I wish I weren't in Grad School AND married to a teacher or else we'd be there in a skinny minute! It's just the worst time of year for us to go.
But..on the other hand..I can't wait to read all these trip reports that we are going to have!!!

Re: Disney World 2008 Free Dining for Disney VISA cardholders

Well, the specific room type we were looking for does not apply. But, that's ok, I still have my ADR's already in place (includign the first time at the Royal Table) and a great suite at Doubletree for $79 a night (I am so glad we booked that just in case).

Anyway, it sounds like most of us were already planning to visit during this time of month, how much more will the free dining offer increase the crowds during this "off" time of year? I noticed the park hours were quite late as well and that the MNSSHP has been extended throughout Sept.

I don't think Disney has a down time anymore. lol

Re: Disney World 2008 Free Dining for Disney VISA cardholders

What is the weather like in WDW in Sept from about the 19 to the 27?
Is it rainging all the time? We have two children under 4 and were going to go in December but if it is not raing this time of year we might change to September who could be crazy to turn down free food?

Susie

This is the first time I will be traveling in September, the 19th - 28th to be exact, but from what I have heard from the Disney in September veterans is that you could encounter a couple of different scenarios:

First, it most likely will be HOT! (Drink lots of water!)

Second, it probably will rain, but the bursts are short, maybe 15 mins. to a half hour. (Bring ponchos!) You should also be aware that September is still hurricane season in Florida and Disney has been hit a few times in the past. (Book trip insurance!)

Lastly, the love bug. Apparently, in the south, there is an insect called the love bug, though while harmless, it makes itself well known in the month of September. Usually they really are not an issue, but I guess in 2006, they were a pretty big nuisance.

All that being said:

The crowds are waaaaay better in September! (Did I add enough a's?)

Free Dining is a HUGE plus!

It's value season, so you save LOTS of money! (To buy more souvenirs!)

And the best part is: Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!
(MNSSHP's are hosted throughout September and October and many, many, many people have told me how FUN they are, especially for the little ones.)

I weighed the pros and the cons for myself and I AM GOING TO WDW IN SEPTEMBER!!!! I am sooooo excited. I hope that this helps you make the best decision for you and your family and maybe I'll bump into you in September!
